You are obviously a Tesla lover, so you're likely to deflect anything negative about the company or their cars. My view is formed from stories about them on the net... you know, "another one bursts into flame"... "another Tesla auto-pilot fails and kills somebody", etc. Read one story about the NTSB (or some other government agency) planning to launch an investigation into the "500,000+ reported incidents of unexpected acceleration" of the cars. Does that smack of "quality" to you? Could be Tesla is going to revolutionize the automobile market and all of the negatives are just "growing pains". If that's the case, than why not a stock price of $6,000?
I'm also a Jap preferer but don't like the look of much except the Celica which I've already had. Had a Datsun 1.1 when I was 18 breifly 31years back.
I had a Mitsu Montero for 16 years. Was in the shop only to replace the window actuators (known to have only about a 10-year life) and the hydraulic clutch cylinder. Scotty says Mitsubishi has degraded also since their buyout.
It's not a fisker!!! Quality is not there yet, but that doesn't matter (reasons I don't even know why) bc people still LOVE them. As long as people rave and love them, more people will tanner and love them.
I have been very critical of Tesla's auto-pilot human beta testing as well as the tendency of their cars to catch on fire. But once you drive one, you'll understand why people like them. They make a good product.
Audi and BMW are stylish and I like driving them... but I wouldn't have one past the warranty period as they tend to be unreliable and expensive to maintain/repair. I wouldn't have Tesla for the same reason... but I understand the thrill of 0-60 in <3 seconds.
