Like, WTF? Warren Buffett-Backed BYD Set To Topple Elon Musk's Tesla As World's No.1 EV Seller This Quarter. But in the article: "In the third quarter, BYD’s battery electric vehicle sales reached 431,603 units, slightly below Tesla’s figure of 435,059. However, when combining the sales volumes for October and November, BYD reported a total of 335,655 units. In comparison, Tesla is anticipated to achieve approximately 480,000 units in the fourth quarter." https://www.benzinga.com/markets/as...s-tesla-as-worlds-no-1-ev-seller-this-quarter
I love transparency and the admittance of wrong doing. Tesla could come out and say how they've been selling unsafe "auto pilot" vehicles for a decade now and your lot will still be out here defending them. Hell, it's taking the government to step in and y'all are still doubling down.
30 fkg years and you love the transparency and the admittance of wrong doing.... You're so full of shit it's not worth going beyond that.
You English read? "Set to topple Tesla this quarter".. which quarter will that be?!? Certainly not Q4 2023!!
Readers know who's been caught in multiple lies (with sources to back it up) and who's FOS. I didn't have an opinion one way or the other, merely pointed to the article where author got his info. No need to lose your shit when people are doing you favors.
(Semafor) email newsletter BYD on course to overtake Tesla China’s BYD is poised to overtake Tesla as the world’s biggest electric-vehicle seller. It’s another sign of China’s growing clout in the automotive industry: Chinese automakers have long dominated the huge Chinese market, but the country now rivals Japan as the world’s biggest car exporter, having overtaken Germany, South Korea, and the U.S. in recent years. And of the 3.6 million cars it exported in 2023, 1.3 million were electric. BYD began by making “no-frills econoboxes,” Bloomberg reported, but as its sales have grown, so has its confidence: Its most expensive mode, the Yangwang U8 SUV, retails at $150,000.
I replied to someone about this article on another forum: Again, you're missing the point because you think I have a negative vision of China. I don't. I'm simply correcting the title of the article that uses BYD's sales numbers to make a general statement about their global dominance. It's not. 97% of its vehicles are sold in China where it dominates in overall vehicle sales (BEV, hybrids and ICE) and China exports the greatest number of BEVs although the article doesn't clarify if that number includes Tesla vehicles built in China, but I suspect it does. Also, the leading BEV sold in China is the Tesla model Y, not a BYD BEV. Finally it's already confirmed that Tesla will again in Q4 sell more BEVs in the world than BYD, meaning that Tesla is still the world leader in BEVs sales in 2023. I hope this is clear enough.
