Terry Watanabe loses $100 million in Vegas then sues Harrah's

  1. From a judicial standpoint it sounds like the man has solid case against the casino. From a moral standpoint the man shares responsibility, obviously. However that's not really what's at issue here, it's the casino's responsibility in the affair that's at issue. As it stands, keeping a man in a gilded cage and keeping him sedated with liquor and prescription drugs, slowly seperating him from his wealth and then suing him afterwards in order to get him locked up in a real prison is a vile, reprehensible act. The casino should make amends and reinstute the man's 100 million.

  4. So, if he wins a lot, he keeps it. But if he loses it, he wants a court to recompense his losses?

Sounds like the TARP, bank, housing, auto bailouts and "incentives"

Unless he was an expert card counter, he wasnt going to win.

And they werent going to let him bet $100 million in one go either.

The casinos, like a good trader, practice sound position sizing. So when a high roller comes in, the casino will risk less than 1% of the house money on each bet they take.

So his chances of ever being up a meaningful amount were zero.

Just like the guy eating fast food every day and then suing McDonald's for getting fat. Or the guy smoking cigarettes and suing Malboro after getting cancer.

He deserves to lose every dollar he got. Of course had he been drunk and sick but won 100 M everything would have been ok, right ?

The guy wasn't visiting Vegas for a weekend of fun he was LIVING in Vegas ! He was spending his entire time between his suite and gambling tables.

If you gamble 4 or more times a week for 1 ( one ) entire year, eventually you are going to lose money, not Terry Watanabe. He lives in his own delusional world and in his world he doesn't have to take any responsability for his actions. Someone else does.

    What a life !
