The men were part of a six-strong gang, aged 20 to 36, who attempted to hijack a Tianjin Airlines flight bound for Urumqi last Friday. Minutes after the flight carrying 101 people took off from Hetian, southwest Xinjiang, three men in the front and three in the back stood up and announced their plans to terrified passengers, according to reports. In the old days.... passengers on a hijacked plane would simply wait for the plane and wait for it to be ransomed. Since 9/11 everyone expects the hijackers will use the plane as a missile and everyone will die. This means the new standard is that passengers must take back the plane and kill/wound/capture the hijackers if they want to live. Many people don't recognize that China does have an extremist Muslim problem in sections of the country near Afghanistan. When the U.S. invaded Afghanistan, China drove some the worst jihad offenders to the border and urged them to go over it to fight the evil western infidels (sort of a great way to get rid of your dangerous extremist ragheads).
