The Palestinians are mad at the wrong people. Their fellow Arab governments told them to flee Israel after the British transferred power over to the Israeli government. Arabs who stayed in Israel became Israeli citizens who have it a lot better than Arabs living anywhere else in the Middle East--although they don't fully appreciate how lucky they are. But the Arabs who fled from the Israelis were condemned to live in refugee camps. Jordan and Egypt refused to do anything for them. Before 1967, there was certainly never any talk of Egypt or Jordan ceding land to the Palestinians. They were never allowed to become Jordanian or Egyptian citizens. That's right, the Isrealis treated the Palestinians in Israel a lot BETTER than their Arab brothers in Jordan and Egypt.
http://a188.g.akamaitech.net/f/188/...ost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A19050-2001Sep12.html "Glick explained to his wife that the plane had been taken over by three Middle Eastern men wearing red headbands. The terrorists, wielding knives and brandishing a red box they claimed contained a bomb, ordered the passengers, pilots and flight attendants toward the rear of the plane, then took over the cockpit." Sure this is out of the press but does "red head bands" ring any clues with anyone??
The "Bloods" Gang from LA or Madonna's backup singers? Sounds like they have credible evidence on who most of the terrorists were on all the flights? Amazing they could figure it out so fast! I believe they are pretty sure its Ben-Laden connected now.
Mugshot--Suffice it to say I really don't like your idea very much at all of the US cutting ties with Israel. It's clear you REALLY DO have a VERY strong opinion of who's right-the palistinians. With regard to your outrageous statement---can anyone honestly say US support of Israel was worth the thousands of people who died--Yeah I think I can say that-and before I'm tempted go any further I will stop and make recommendation that zboy end this thread here- we're a trading site . We're totally off base now and have no business being here.
i disagree and would hope that this thread stands. there is no trading and the topic of this thread is the event which temporarily halted trading, so this thread is relevant...participation is voluntary of course i am not pro/con arab or jew (or christian, for that matter) but I do think the US has been (unfortunately) drawn into a long standing feud with two hard headed, vengeful participants on either side this from ddefina earlier in this thread: "The conclusions I draw from this is that we may be in a continuation of this religous war that has now drawn the US into the fray through being accomplices with Israel, and/or being of predominantly Christian origin. " both sides are wrong and both are right in some ways, but our government is definitely on one side of the issue. Like Mugshot, I simply wish that we were not involved in this religious/political black hole
As I have consistently maintained, I will fully support whatever military action the US, her NATO allies, and her other friends (Russia, India and Israel) wish to take against the evils of Islamic terrorism. The markets will be back for us by Monday at the latest, according to Grasso of the NYSE. In the meanwhile, let us simply wait for the Pentagon to do what must be done. God Bless America. I am 100% confident in our army, navy and airforce to apply the correct dosage of punishment to Afghanistan, Pakistan and any other countries who preach and implement Islamic terrorism.
Considering that the exchanges are still not functioning yet, this topic will stay open for the time being. However, once the market begins trading again, new posts will no longer be allowed in this thread in order to return the focus of the forum back to trading.
