I don't have anything empirical, but if you're just asking for my opinion...

Too many arguments try to link these school shootings to the amount of gun ownership in the US - falling back on the whole correlation doesn't exactly mean causality argument. Especially when you consider the amount of existing laws that are violated by the shooters already. Now, do I believe that having zero guns in the civilian populace would make it better? Of course. But that's an impossible dream, so its really about preventing those who would do harm getting a weapon.

That's not what you asked me. But its important to start with that, because if we just blame guns, as the left is oft to do, then we never consider that mental health might be the real 800 lb gorilla.

The hard push for deinstitutionalization for mental incapacitation that saw essentially throwing the mentally ill onto the street, combined with the massive push to prescribe anti-depressants and a whole host of mood altering drugs and anxiety relaxers, and throw a little fear mongering media and social media scare porn into the mix, and everyone thinks the world is ending tomorrow, and they hate - and cannot related interpersonally - to anyone else without texting them. Couple that with bad parenting and a snowflake generation, and the moment anyone faces real adversity in their real life, they snap. Lastly, for good measure, throw a couple of hundred million firearms into the mix, with lax regulation and a shitty DoJ that focuses on all the wrong people for problems, and viola - chaos.

This says nothing about the foreign actors influencing anti-american behavior and conceptualization on social media, and the partisan hate being thrown by both sides, serving only to enrage the weak minded (which is the majority) of the populace.

One, just one of these suicidals can't find their way to a Trump rally? Com'on crazies, what's the matter? You can't stand out as insane with Trumpets around?

  5. I have stated several times that I support a more thorough path towards gun ownership which would include at least a 7 day waiting period, a VERY thorough background check which includes any treatment for mental illness. I also support mandatory firearms training for all new purchases which is not limited to simple mechanics of operation and safety, but also include the legalities of ownership, when/where the weapon can be used in self-defense. Beyond that we need much more severe penalties for those that use a gun while committing crimes. Just show a weapon while committing a crime, ten years mandatory sentence. Fire the weapon and wound someone while committing crime, mandatory life sentence. Kill a person(s) while committing the crime, mandatory death sentence. Now let the zealots bitch. Fuck'em. Let the woke bitch about their gender bullshit. Fuck'em. Let the virtue signaling humanitarians bitch. Fuck'em. Or we can keep counting bodies while our gutless politicians make hay out of the issue on the campaign trail, which of course is the most likely thing to happen. Maybe someday people will wake the fuck up and realize that the cocksuckers running this country do not give a flying fuck about the pain, misery, and death they are directly responsible for. In fact, they thrive on it, love it, couldn't survive without it.

I have stated my support for tougher background checks many times. I have also stated my support for mandatory firearms training for all who purchase, training which includes appropriate use when and where. Mandatory life sentence for any crime where a gun was involved. Dekillingath penalty mandatory for those

But you vote for a party that 40 US Senators vote against universal background checks.

I'm sure there are some politicians you support that have one or two things you don't support in their repertoire. There are no politicians I vote for that represent my beliefs 100%.
