I think I only really started to enjoy trading when 'what I want to do' and 'what I should do' became one and the same, irrespective of the outcome.
Bring forth your Joy Traders...everbody has a different formula. Don't you see that is WHY trading is so rewarding to so many people, even the successful...and yes even the Elite... Now imagine another thread, "Why Trading is Frustrating to me" Which do you choose? Isn't it better this way? Feel the Joy, let it shine... When you start your session clear out all those nasty thoughts, find your joy, or do not trade at all! Teach yourselves. and Yes we all battle with negativity... For me... great therapy is to look at my spreadsheets...I know... pretty corny huh, but it gets the analytical process going and that frame of mind I seek. Sometime when it gets hard I try to find it here in ET, but ET is like a box of chocolates, you never know what your going to get. Delagate your inspiration to live where you can trust, you know what you know and do not let others sway you, but entertain you. Michael B.
Quote from BSAM: I like trading. But, I'd rather be married to Pamela Anderson and just spend her money. Hope you understand. have you ever heard her talk on tv? you are easily pleased by a bosom please excuse my error. i meant to say deceived by a bosom
I love trading. I have found that there is nothing else I really put my heart and mind into like trading. Do I have ADD? Am I crazy? Should I have gone to medical school instead? yes, no and no. I found med school process a bore. Couldn't get myself to do it. Went into teaching, did well, but eventually got bored. Guess what, trading has never been boring. From the early days of me losing my first 25K, to the days of me living in my office, then getting a good job with a Merger Arbitrage firm, I am thankful for every minute of it. Two times per month, I get the privledge of sitting in a round table discussion with two of the best futures traders in the country. I am behind them in achievements, but we meet because we love this business. I got lucky to get there, was it all luck? I am structuring a deal hopefully soon with a new firm, where I will trade the strategies I learned over the past 4 years, and have developed on my own. Its an uncertain process day by day, but thats where the money is. The money, in trading, is in the uncertainty. I know I love trading because...well...there is nothing else that grabs my focus as much. I choose to go the extra mile and do it to the best of my ability. Even in typing this, I feel the connection with this line of work, or art. Ok...I am new to this site but this thread grabbed my attention.
I like being told at the end of every day whether I'm right or wrong. Being right is a great feeling.
i guess i must like it, as I get more exciting looking at Maestros tradestation setup than when looking at porn
I love trading because if you are right you can make a fortune. Unlike running a business, you have to begging to get someone to buy your products even with a great product, with trading and you are right on the money you make a fortune.
I B Fine... but I don't understand the concept of "enough money". What's that, more than your wife can spend?
