Tell me how much you enjoy Trading

  1. Putting it like that maybe you are right? Get back into the corporate world and work for someone else. There you only have to worry about downsizing, rightsizing, layoffs, office politics, not getting promoted for the position you deserve because the VPs son just got out of college and took your job, plus a million other things to worry about. And the number one reason, you have to wear a suit and tie every day!

How can trading for a living compare to that?

  2. Judge your peers by how they perform when the going gets tough. I coin on my best days which are usually my toughest days. I look forward to year end and my PnL statements. Mike must've taken his yearly liberties with the wife to start praying to jesus for his $7,000 account size. Funny guy.

I live in the Pacific time zone and when my alarm goes off at 4:45, I jump out of bed like a kid on Christmas morning. I've been like that for the last 5 years, and can't imagine the feeling ever going away.

  5. I hope I still can when I have more....are you thankful just for the money and the sex? I'm glad to be alive and able to be in this marvelous profession.

    but..

    every rose has its thorn....

but lets talk about the rose only in this "feel good" thread.

You all know I have struggled for years to get this trading down. Just because it comes together for me, is not the only reason I started this thread. I could have started this anytime on my Journey, as I believe the passion is just the same now...

If it must come to pass to make me a better trader...then bring on the thorns...so be it...I still enjoy what I do. I have paid my price and have had a bed of thorns to lay in...

  8. Same here. Glad to be alive and in my line of work--trading. I thank the stars everyday and night to have the ability to do this even if it isn't prime time, yet. I look at how people have to lie, cheat, and steal to earn a buck and how those people end up in public office or chairman of exchanges. Just happy to have the ability to trade everything and anything after years of struggling and eating hand to mouth solely b/c of pride and principal. Now, it's just a matter of staying on top and executing. Really, not much else than execution and learning how to execute better and cheaper. Glory days, not quite, not yet. I keep myself hungry and alert for the opportunity to advance to a higher level of success, everyday. Taking time off always made me a stronger trader upon my return.

what if your boss fires you?

what if you lose your pension and all your savings because of some fraud somewhere or market crash?

what if the company you work for goes bust?

what if the sky falls down?

life is full of risks. it just depends on whether you want to take responsibility and control of your destiny, or leave it in the lap of others.

personally, i think if you leave your financial well being to others, they will always have their own self interests over yours.

    as jim morrison once crooned.....

'trade in your hours for a handful of dimes....' no thanks.
