Actblue doesn't appear to be a charity but rather a facilitator. If I was running the joint I'd charge a fee and or percentage to facilitate. I don't see a million other non-charities including financial institutions who process payments in your navigator

If you re a "pass-through facilitator" created as a 501(c)(3) organization established as a philanthropy with tax exempt status claiming to raise money for charity then you are REQUIRED to file the proper IRS forms (990). Failure to file the IRS forms outlining the distribution of the money means that that you are merely running a scam.

Actblue Charities Inc. is headquartered in Somerville, MA, and is a 501(c)(3) organization. EIN: 47-3739141. Donations are tax-deductible. The IRS NTEE classification code is T02, Management & Technical Assistance within the Philanthropy, Voluntarism and Grantmaking Foundations category. The IRS ruling year for tax exemption was 2015.

  3. Yeah because the Red Cross does not take 90% for overhead haha..

Someone is so pissed that AOC did something they are digging in google to find fault in it....

She is not from Texas and has no obligation to do anything but did and still shit all over..

Win Red was set up by GOP to compete with ActBlue becuase it was raising so much money....

ActBlue passes on most of hte donations so stop hating.. Groups that use ActBlue pay a 3.95% credit card processing fee. As a nonprofit, ActBlue runs its own, separate fundraising program and accepts tips on contributions to pay for its expenses.

The Red Cross is a legitimate charity organization inline with norms for overhead spending.

"Charity Watch found the Red Cross spent 89% of its expenses on charitable programs. The remaining 11% was spent on overhead, which includes fundraising, management, and general."

Act Blue Charities has long been criticized for failing to file the proper IRS paperwork and refusing to disclose what they do with donated money. Act Blue Charities is little more than a scam and AOC is promoting it. I doubt whether any of the organizations listed on her donation page will get a single dime forwarded to them by Act Blue -- an issue which has been a continuous problem with Act Blue.

  5. Your opinion is Texas groups will not get a dime of the money raised... so if we prove that even $10 of money raised goes to texas then she still did more than Cancun Cruz who did nothing except book a room at the Ritz Carlton... AOC is not under any obligation to do something for Texas but she did and you hate that

If she had actually urged people to donate directly to the Houston Food Bank then I would applaud her efforts. Instead she urged people to donate to a scam charity organization which does not disclose what it does with the money.

Ted Cruz has a decent chance of becoming President at some point.

That explains the vitriol I guess.
