Thank you I will look into the videos. When comparing the books, however, would you say that the original book still teaches the same material as covered in the trilogy, but perhaps in a less organized way?
My opinion is the first book is very hard to read but that’s just me! I’m a visual learner so having the charts on the page when he talks about them makes a difference for me
I suggest to buy Brooks video course, it is worth the investment, no matter you are a new trader or seasoned. His way of analysing the market gives you the confidence that no matter what happens during the day session, you can end up making money.
Brooks first book focused on “reading” price action. His trilogy focuses on “how” to use price action to trade the markets. There is a difference between the two concepts. Many of his charts in his earlier book have been updated and the discussion of the charts have been in great part rewritten. Only about 5% of the 120,000 words from his first book are present in the 570,000 words on trilogy, so there is minimum duplication. Just to be clear I have his first book, I have his trilogy in hardback AND digital form (for study especially when traveling). I also have the Best Trades VIDEO course put together by Richard. I also have Brooks main VIDEO course plus I have his Forex VIDEO course. In short, what is in his trilogy of 570,000 words could not in anyway fit into his first book of 120,000. So....I guess you can draw your own conclusion about the matter. IMO proper protocol to learning brooks is: 1) Richards Best Trades course as an introduction. 2) Brooks big Video Course 3) Brooks Trilogy 4) Brooks first book. 5) Some time spent in the trading room to see his daily comments live One and two will set the foundation for understanding the books of 3 and 4 and serve to get to a body up to actually trading without going through all the books. The books are more of a detailed treatment of the concepts and will be easier to understand and to read by going thru 1 and 2 above. 1 thru 4 can be accomplished with around 600 bucks IN monetary costs. That is a cheap education on Price Action IMO. Brooks materials and methodologies resonate deeply with myself however, I adapt them to fit my own style. IMO nobody else (that I have seen) treats PA as extensively as Brooks. Hope this answers you question.
Hershey intrigued me but for some reason I could not see my way through his thought processes. It seemed too far out of the baseball field for myself. Maybe too untraditional? I don't trade forex. Never have, but wanted brooks explanation of it. Do you trade forex?
Thank you for responding I will follow this advice in learning Al Brooks. I’m in forex but would also like to be active in eminis. who is Hershey?
His name was Jack Hershey and he passed away a couple of years ago but if you search his name here I’m sure you can find out more about him
Yes, sprout should be able to direct you to Hershey material. I don’t think he wrote a book but made a lot of posts. As far as I know he never charged a penny for explaining his system. I believe he was an engineer??
