Response has to be proportional. You don't nuke a cat. volpri is not even selling anything, yet he bothers to post his methods. How many other people are posting their methods? And to be completely honest with you, I wish volpri would not even divulge his methods. Thou shalt not cast thy pearls before swine.
I trade stocks, not future. $4K wad the price I paid for buying 50 shares. Max drawdown would be the loss when the trade was closed at a loss, actually quite modest. These were all long trades.
As I said I have no dog in this fight but think volpri is being unfairly accused. As for me, I really don't care what they think, am actually glad they don't believe me. All I am trying to say is @volpri's method has merits because I proved to myself that they worked.
I just told @deaddog, $4K represent 50 shares of a $80 stock. I regret getting dragged into this. Let this be my last post on this debate because I don't want to pollute his Journal.
I obviously didn't understand the spreadsheet. I was under the impression that the numbers on the right were account balance.
He's selling the dream and promoting day trading and his techniques and teachings to achieve success. Yet, very little is known about what results are possible to achieve using these methods. Why is that such a secret? A blue eyed and pimple faced newbie who logs on to this site may very well spend years of his life pursuing these type teachings potentially wasting his time and money pursuing a dead end. On the other hand, my modus operandi is to discourage people from pursuing trading because I know very well how difficult it is. Trading must be the only business or industry where people simply believe. Can you imagine anywhere in the real world of business where people would not share their results or work background? Can you imagine going to a doctor who didn't have any medical training and simply believe he knew what he was doing? Nah. You wouldn't. But in trading people seem to act and think in strange ways.
To be clear, I'm not saying this methods don't work. I don't know. I guess I'm just a skeptic and I find it suspect that any questions about performance are declined. Why not let the students know if they can expect to beat the S&P by a wide margin or not? After all, day trading doesn't really make sense unless you bring home excessive returns.
Drop the hyperbole. We are talking about volpri and this thread. Who are the noobs in this thread who don't know what futures are? The people I see posting on this thread appear to be know it alls, not noobs.
