Here are some trades taken this morning. Along with some explanation of different price action patterns as they form and potential entry and exit points. These explanations are done live as trading is unfolding. You might find the commentaries interesting. Or not.

I am done for the day. Have other things to do. A scalper has to learn to trade in all market conditions and go with the flow. Or mitigate if against the flow using other techniques.

    Ended up capturing 293.25 points.

  2. For the people that don't watch all volpri's videos, this video has examples of both a losing trade after adding contracts multiple times, as well as taking a loss on one contract. It also shows him getting back a loss with a doubled up position.

    Start at 8:57

Thanks so much volpri for another great video

It is Christmas Eve and the markets open for a few hours in the morning. We have company Dad and Mom so I took a few trades to show him how I scalp. He doesn't understand shorting how a trader can make money when price goes down. I did one short trade ...a loser...which I lost on purpose so he could see a loss. It was an intentional loss. I wanted him to see the color of the connecting line between the entry and the exit of a trade. I state on the video about it being a bad entry but actually it could have turned out as a profitable scalp but I wanted it to lose.

This was the NQ. The trades captured 50.25 points X $20.00 per point was profit without commissions being deducted. Depending on how a trader wishes to count the trades It was 7 winners and 1 loser or 8 winners and 1 loser. The video explains this. These trades took place in the a.m. hours before the early close.

This was trading a SPBL (small pullback bull trend). This is how I like to scalp such PA. There were many other opportunities but I had to attend to other things so I could not sit and watch every bar.

  4. Aloha vopri,
Thank you for the video. At 3:52 you reference a 10 period EMA. Did you mean 20, or is 10 something else you use?

I know you're asking volpri but it looks like he uses Al Brooks stuff and Brooks's scalping videos on youtube show a 10 ema on the 1 and 2 minute charts. 20 sma on 5 minute charts.

That is correct except I use EMA not SMA. I use on 5m charts a 20 EMA and on 1m or 2m charts I use a 10 period EMA. If scaling on a 30 second chart I might even use a smaller ema but I prefer to not scalp on smaller size than a 1m chart. However, if market is like watching paint dry, I may go to a 30 second chart to see better see some trades that are generated with PA patterns.

This morning off and on as time allows, I am trading the ES. On a 2m chart.

Here are some trades in the ES taken today as I had time. I could not watch the market allthe time as we had a refrigerator technician here working on our refrigerator so at times, I was talking to him or to Dad.

These trades pulled 31.25 points from around 9:30 a.m. to 1:40 as I was able to place trades during that time period. It was 17 trades, 15 winners, two losses. Trading small size, never over 3 contracts in at any one time and trading for small scalps from 1 point to maybe 2.5 to 3 points.

As a scalper I don't have to trade large size (but I can if I wish) to make profit. Again, as I always preach "I grab what the market gives me and maintain a high win rate.

Some trades were averaging down. Some were straight scalps. Some were using the whittling down technique to recover a paper loss as the market probed back to a profit on the original entry that was losing on paper.

Some of the recording may be garbled or voices in the background as I didn't have a good recording environment today but maybe you can understand the recording.

Of course, the ES is $50.00 a point. And this was trading small size and grabbing small profits. I simply to not lament or worry about what happens after I exit a profitable trade as I can always get back in if need be, should price continue in my favor. I think there may be a trade or two where I exited on a bar and enter again on the same bar. The key is I LOCKED in the profits! IMO scalpers must learn to lock in their profits. We cannot afford to be greedy.

I took some trades this morning 12-27-2024. I mistakenly stated at the beginning it is was 12-26 but it was today 12-27. The quality of video was not the best as people were talking in the background (Christmas) etc. Maybe you can understand it.

The objective here was to trade a little bigger size and show that the techniques can work with bigger size. Size is only limited by one's account size and one's stomach for risks.

If trading size a scalper in my opinion has to be ready for bigger drawdowns in $$ but not necessarily in points.

This is the NQ capturing 1836.25 points in a little less than 2 hours. It was composed of 11 trades all winners and no losers. So, 100%-win rate.

It was trading 5, 10, and 20 lots of NQ at a times.

Enjoy watching it OR not. Up to you.

Hope all had a good Christmas!

I am done for the session. Got other things to do and have visitors.
