  2. With regard to the fork inthe road you are announcing, why wouldn't is ba a good idea the uses the seven cases as a starting point to begin to differentiate in your mind. The alternative branch you have decided to embark upon is to analyze Spyder's use of taping which is quite mature and fully differentiated.

Three mind's are involved. Two of them followed a similar path and arrived at the same differentiated place.

As you will notice over and over your constructions and displays of substantive content are different than those given to you in verbal directions. There is simply a very consistent comparison available with regard to the flow of the articulation.

You are proceeding in one direction while your predecessors are proceeding in another direction.

The decision you have made and announced to work back from a precision finished mature set of perfectly consistent representations will be done from your personal vantage point of an undifferentieated mind.

Do you notice in each and every chapter of Doidge that the two groups represented in each chapter are the scientists who strive heartily and their patients who are impaired. The scientists always work with the patient to bring the patient forward from where they are to a new place a step further towards the final result that will be acheived by the teamwork of the scientist and the aflicted. Why do not the scientist's give the patients something to read and their personal research and walk out of the space?

The reason the scientists are giving to their colleagues is that the approaches that they do use, cure the mind's of the patients and it happens according to a theme of building block by block to help the patient forward.

None of these people nor Spyder nor I work in the way that you continually announce you are going to create to follow.

I took the trouble to take the pieces of your illustrations, over and over, and put them in the order of the mind's handling and porcessing. I posted about 20 illustrations using a shape, spactial relationships and movement to show an input/output configuration that rplicates the mind's input/output processes.

I know each and every post I made is a relvalation to you of the same repeated message. Why is the same thing over and over a revelation?

It is simply the choices that you make among the possibilities that you have. You have a choice of doing advanced beginner and finding out what you did not learn in beginner and you have the choice you have outlined that precludes doing the advanced beginner work.

Why did we double the duration of the first item of the syllabus in the beginning of 2007? We could not proceed simply because of the little hitch we are beginning to notice hrere.

In Doidge and in the SCT year long syllabus we followed a theme.

Drills until the person's long term memory kicked in.

Do you think analysis will kick in your long term memory or do you think doing drills building block by building block will kick in your long term memory? Obviously you believe you will do better applying a personal skill that you already have and not applying something that is unfamial and prehaps unsafe for you.

Here is an activity you may consider. You will not like it since it runs counter to recent decisions and connections you have altered.

Before we look at it, just consider my position. You have announced a dream come true for me in terms of my current investments. Time is the investment. It is a value thing. you are going somewhere else to do something else. I posted the stuff for bootcamp all the way to expert already. All that was left to do was associate "experience" with the building blocks. i have done that many many times before and I am just culling down ths pile of "experience data".

Draw a chain of circles horizontally. the extremes are two entities who are trying to connect. the middle circle has three letters in it. U, A and V.

Pencil in a second ring on a separate sheet. In terms of a compass, in RED write TELL at 90 degrees; ACCEPT at 270 degrees and finish up at 360 degrees with VALUE. Start at 0 degrees and in black overwrite the ring and put an arrow at each place you run into a word (three arcing arrows is the result)

TELL is done by listening to the words of another person impartig something and where you cannot speak back ever.

ACCEPTING is done by simply accepting what you were told. Here you see something happened to the listener and the TELLER finds this happening out. In blue between the two reads, TELL and ACCEPT write the word (at about 135 degrees) TRUST.

If a person can listen and accept what another TELLS (without talkiing back or responding), then trust is happening.
Lady finger firecrackers ar going off all the time when this is possible. That is, under telling and acceptance bi laterally (where the roles are played for the tell and accept during some times one way or the other BUT NOT as a dialogue) among the left and right circle, then trust exists from left to right and trust exists from right to left.

When ACCEPT occurs, then what is TELL'ed takes on VALUE. The value is there because of the individuals and their improving connections. Each little lady finger firecracker issomething that is a bump in the road and if it is TELL'ed, then the trust growss and connections get better.

What you do is analyze to see if whatever. You do not TELL. You are dealing with a fuse in that sense. The fuse goes a long distance to somthing big red and filled with energy.

I'm suggesting to you that it is nice that you informed me of your plans and choice. That is just a bump (lady finger firecracker) that lets me know and accept what you are embarking upon. I value what you will be doing but it is unconnected to a mutual effort; it is an individual affort of yours.

I gave you a TELL called Advanced Beginer drills which you will spend some time on and get done when possible. I see you accept the posted drills and logs for four of five more levels of building blocks to get to expert. SCT. I also added some weekend specifics that expanded upon Table A of the drills and logs post. I see that they may be considered as something you accept.

The above scenario is used in the big leagues of the business world where a full range of Meyers-Briggs types play. what the above scenario does is use a substitute process for the CW process of "putting our heads together to put in a fix". I switched to building trust through accepting what (anything no matter what) is told by the other person. Trust is not build by championing the fixes and winning against your competitors. Trust is done by operating below the neck level. Most traders fail because they have "feelings" and those feelings (fear, anxiety and anger) do not even allow them to trust themselves.

You translated the Advanced beginner drill from a set of building blocks( A simple one of a few cases that determines "trending" as a way of finding the MODE (not yet learned as part of the past beginner work)) to "an analysis" of your invention.

As a bootcamp departure, yet once again, I am giving you a TELL. You have already dumped the boot camp process to spend time (an investment) on "X".

Boot camp is the middle circle on the first illustration.

So "what" is analysis? Doing the work is a trusting yourself issue. When will you trust yourself to put up messy work? When will you prefer to build upward from a foundation and established building blocks?

I see that I have 'translated' instructions again. I do not understand where the translation occurred, but will not defend it. Vast quantities of time and focussed attention have been wasted on translation and invention. Imagine where the process could be if none of that had happened...

I can think of one foolproof way to avoid a single translation or invention from occurring again... one surefire way of maximizing every single second... one fail-safe and dramatically accelerated route... and one which doesn't have to compromise the integrity, continuity or relevance of the thread...

I couldn't do any real-time work between shifts today. Day off tomorrow, so I'll resume with the new market day, then carry out the Advanced Beginner drills over the weekend. Please give my suggestion more thought.

Unflinching reluctance to cheat is an invaluable quality in a support person, and necessitates a certain way of communication, which although potentially more productive, can be alarmingly prone to misconstruction, and hence counter-productive.

I've reread the above paragraph, again and again. Maybe the purpose of slicing was simply to appreciate the different PACE characteristics of the slices (and in doing so, obtain a deeper understanding of times of day), and note the synchronicity of PACE changes with sequential traverses, which is where the comparison with Spyder's slices would come in. On the other hand, this 'conclusion' could merely be yet another 'invention'... :(

  5. we lost cable for a while here today. I tried to post this after saving it in Word.

Attached is a 2003 word document.

In addition to my attached comments here is a step by step which may be helpful to us.

I NEED to see where you are in this process. This is selfish BUT it is a way to move things along.

    1. You pick up a print of a slice. You have a pencilled log.

    2. You print Spyder's temple/answer sheet.

    3. You use a hi liter to shade out the places where you both agree,

    4. Now lay Spyder's sheet aside. Turn it upside down, perhaps.

    5. Look at the instructions you are using in the three ring learner binder.

    6. Debrief ON the slice print and/or the log.

    7. Post a scan (in color) of the debrief which contains your debrief in ball point.

    8. In the posting, do what everyone else does in the Iterative Refinement thread. This is new to you as you begin to communicate where you are. It exposes you probably but that may not be something that is negative. What you are doing is formulating the focus of where we are moving forward.

As an academic it was my custom to answer questions during contact times. Naturally doing answers is easier than formulating questions. Formulating a question is tough. You have to find out where the question is located (I, now, am going down to giving you the steps to do this. Going down means I am breaking a task into smaller parts to see if I can get you to deal with something, anything as a starter). If you do find the location it will be in your mind and the processes your mind is doing in a way that needs to be boosted up to a more satisfactory and successful level.

What I get to do is fill in the missing parts of your 3 ring learning binder and what you get is a way to perform when you have the chance to work in real time as the markets unfold. In this time period, the market's every day make huge offers to traders who are taking the offer.

I tried to post to you to get you to work smart. All of theabove is a direct and fairly detailed way to get to what is going on in your mind. To formulate questions is the deal. That is your job and I can understand why you do not pose questions. as you read the thread you see it is dead in terms of moving forward from where anyone reading it might be and might be having questions. Everyone is being exceptionally courteous and not rocking the boat.

We know it takes 20 days to have a minimum experience of the normal range of conditions. Since there are not any questions coming up on the work being logged and annotated, that means we cannot focus on difficulties in your mind. We do see difficulties in annotating and difficulties in logging. That is part of learning and not dealing where the rubber meets the road.

All the phishing people are frustrated too. one reason is that they do not understand anything nor do any work. So they cannot come up with any comments that are of any detracting quality. If they did there would be more meat in the thread.

Why do you leave out annotations on a tape level is one question that I have?

I hope you come up with questions on the P, V relationship and how the market speaks all the time regarding the P, V relationship. In M of MADA you are recording the conversation and it is NOY a lab sheet set of observations. SCT does not observe the market, SCT is listening to the directions the market is dictating in a partnership.

You speak back by your position in the market and the market gives you its offer all the time. If you do not "know that you know", then you do not profit. If you do not know then ask questions (these are not annotating and logging questions, you have directions to refer to for that). Here is where we post answers to questions that relate to your mental processes that relate to M, A, D and A. and to questions that deal with how you, in your mind, deal with situations when you do not know that you know.

You happen to be omitting any narratives on your slices when you either post a chart or post a log. Why don't you state in a blow by blow way what you annotated and what you logged? Why don't non housekeeping questions come up relative to each slice??

Thanks for all the added clarification, Jack.

The classification of OBs as internals (although not strictly an inferential realization) is definitely an aha for me, and will be logged in colour.

The clarification of the purpose of slicing was useful, and I acknowledge that signal:noise ratio is intimately connected with PACE.

I hadn't been annotating tapes thoroughly, and hadn't really been cognizant of sequences applying within tapes, although they are a universal thing. I've included a recent chart snippet from Mr Black that illustrates this.

    <img src=http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=2165619>

For my own benefit, I'll now compile the recent amendments/clarifications to instructions:

    • Use correct vocabulary for pace column (E, H, M, L, DU, VDU).
    • Complete pace change column correctly
    • Complete sequence column in red
    • Enter volatility in points, with 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3 relating to tick increments
    • Write perceptions in the log rather than purely sensory inputs
    • Recognize OBs as internals
    • Annotate tapes completely
    • Provide a 'blow-by-blow' narration with each posted slice/log
    • Follow the 8-stage debriefing process when comparing to Spyder's chart, highlighting areas of agreement, and being attentive to sequences and the correct application of the 7-cases
    • Pose questions (including those of the non-housekeeping variety)

All set for the new day.

  7. A superbe summary post Neoxx, particularly useful for mental cretins such as myself. And thank you too Mr. Black for the illustration. And thank you too Jack. I hope your recovery progresseth well.
