I'm caught up. Thanks for doing the slices and logging. I'll try to ease into the conversation slowly. For Advanced Beginner I suggested trading the traverses and reporting out with some specific trverses as the day goes along. You will get about 7 to 15 trades a day. Right now I am not up to par, personally but I do want to step in and offer some comments. As we go from level to level, the focus is on adding shells of skills and knowledge to the differentiating of the mind. What it is all about is having an understanding of how markets work and partnering with the market. As you see the foundation is beginning to stick. As you do tapes and make traverses, the traverses form channels. This gives us thre trading fractals and we learn to make money by using the slower fractal first then moving to learn to trade within that fractal using the FTT's of the channel. Advanced beginner takes up traverses as a fractal that is faster than the channel fractal. So the MODE change is occurring on channels and traverses. Every channel FTT for Change is also a traverse change. There are about three minimum traverses of each channel. In the first slice you ENTER and do two traverses. Which takes you to the first channel pt3 of the day. In boot camp three days of these type slices gets you to where 10 real time days in Beginner would have gotten you mind building wise. The second slice is from pt 3 to the next point 2 of the chanel fractal. Again two traverses are made and they are DIFFERENT than the traverses of the first slice of the day. The rest of the daily slices in advanced beginer on a given day are pairs of traverses. Each successive pair gives to a different slice to work through. The third slice includes a pt 2 to pt3 and a pt 3 to a channel FTT. Occassionally we have trending days so the pairs just go along as a combo of non-dom and then dom traverses. Generally there are two trades per slice. the two aspects of Advanced Beginner that come along to make charts and slices messy are hesitant beginnings of days. And middles of days where a new point 3 crops up and where a PM BO comes when a lateral CCC has occurred. Seasonally, the emphasis the market dictates varies. One thing that is difficult to adjust to is who is in chanrge. As has been suggested to you by many and in different ways is that the market is in charge and the market has come to let everyone know that it follows sequences. All the different logs that you now have for each part of the SCT progression are designed to inform you of this. Beginner took 10 real time days to do a foundation and trading channels, the slow outer boundary of SCT. We will use those 10 days over and over on weekends to build our family of curves that represent how added skills reflect in taking more and more of the market's offer. Each weekend will generate a couple of new data sets for the 10 days. You can shorten the logs to just the rows where change takes place in the MODE of that level of trading. The semi log chart will show ever increasing money velocity for each curve as each curve is plotted. It is awkward to have one day missing on the curve since the curve also represents learning. I couldn't get through to you on instructions for the first 10 days where I needed to make a correction by redoing a day. Then I gave that up and did not get my scond instruction to you before you proceeded to leave it out and move on. It may take a momonet but could you reinsert the missing day "AS IS" without repairing the day. This will make it possible to have a wiggle on the learning curve and the 10 day equity curves you will be developing. before you do any of this on next week end, please post a comment on how you will insert the missing day in the correct place for the debrief on adding contracts. Then we can get the first curve graphed and then do the 10 day advanced beginner curve as a review of advanced beginner on the weekend. During Advanced Beginner boot camp you do slices in real time on days you can work in real time. I will dialog on your slices and respective log slices that you do in real time. then this weekend you can do the 10 days you did for beginner as a review of Advanced Beginner using the charts 1 through 10 in order and add Advanced Beginner new abrieviated logs for each of those 10 days. then the first debrief is to add the added contract to the 10 logs for the 10 days and then draw the second curve on the formerly completed Beginner semilog chart already done and reviewed. Lastly, on the weekend you can debrief the ADvanced beginner trading as done before for beginner. We can stow each level of curve preparation in the original 10 folders. COMMENTS ON ADVANCED BEGINNER: 1. Your job is to do ADV BEG and take direction from the market. The market will tell you what it is doing; you do not presume in any way. If you cannot "hear" the market speaking, then you are not listening well enough. More listen; much less guessing, predicting, hoping, and wnating. At some point we go to zero tolerance on each of these items. 2. The market is sequential. Begin to write down the sequence vertically in RED just to the right of the MODE. 3. Omitting the PACE shift or change is no longer necessary. Use the column provided. As the slices get done you will begin to see that they are done under different pace conditions and durinf pace changes which when they occur changes the rest of the slice. 4. the markets are settling down and you can begin the note the volatility in tics and/or points. 3 points and 2 tics is 3.2; you can think up the others. 5. People are making good annotation suggestions to you. Comparing with Spyder is absolutley required. Post his slices with your slices since ther is space since a slice is narrow usually. By beginnning to slice and dice, you get to draw the rd lines that close out the past and its influences forever. Obviously the channel wireghted line prsist because there is always a hannel framming the traverses. 6. Do not make up any more lists of your translations and inventions. Do this by stopping tranlating and inventing. Getting the mind to work and getting it differentiated happens best of all when you are just "in boot camp" and participating only in the drills. We now have many concurrent drills going on. And as you see from reading, the parts of MADA each have their own separate and DIFFERENT thought PROCESSES (including the unique "inferences" coming from your memories as they get established as long term memories). There are now many things working in parallel. As you see from the nexy levels of logs and directions, the pace of differentiation picks up. This is all possible because you are using many operators in your mind as intermediaries to repeatedly get things from one place to another. This is where the word skill comes from. The idea of boot camp is to think critically and intensively all the time. The market is the same day after day. 81 bars are annotated and MADA is used as required. As skills are acquired and sequences become part of the differentiation, the market gradually comes into view and finally into focus. At this point, the boot camp recruit is ready to embark on effectiveness and efficiency and optimization. You, of course and as usual, will not be able to read, understand and conprehend the last sentence. you will read it as "time to translate and time to invent". That is not what the sentence says. Instead the sentence is talking about skills and knowledge and the mind and it's differentiation. Boot camp is to deal with technique as attached to knowledge. Gaining knowledge is not done by reading, reading anything. Knowledge comes from the truth of experience. Knowledge does not vome from the faults of experience or what some people construe as learning from your mistakes. One thing is learned from a mistake. Don't make the mistake. You do not learn how to not make the mistake. Look how well and perfectly I have trained the detractors. Some search and search and find something tomisunderstand. then the hand off occurs to the head OCD. He dutifully presses a set of buttons in a specific order to post a citation he copped from thesearch crew. He dutifully uses search to keep each thread alive that contains information we wish to have before learners or assessors. This training I have provided is ceaseless at this point. We ignore them but they keep the HOME fires burning with out threads.
Last slice Covered on bar 77, while it looked like a small inside bar. <img src=http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=2162798>
Thanks for the feedback, Astral. I hadn't realized that about lateral construction. I'd mostly been relying on my platform to automatically draw laterals. And I came to think that until the shadow of the original bar was broken, a lateral was in place. Maybe this is why Spyder and Mr Black (amongst others) hand draw their laterals... As far as traverse construction goes, I seem to be jumping from too few to too many. I can understand how you've formed your two 'mini-traverses'. In forming mine in similar fashion last Friday, I ended up with lots of extraneous traverses, some of which looked like 3-bar tapes on Spyder's version. I clearly need to improve my appreciation of the sequential nature of all fractals, and mechanics of traverse construction. Thanks, Astral, your comments were very helpful.
I can see the symmetry. The second one is clear cut, originating from an FTT of the turquoise traverse. My understanding of the 1st traverse of the day was that point 1 is established on a demonstration of dominance. As I didn't see this until bar 7, I hadn't realized that point 1 was on bar 4. Thanks for pointing this out. Lots more mind building to do! <img src=http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=2162916 width=300>
