FYI - SnagIt is a very nice, inexpensive screen capture tool. http://www.techsmith.com/screen-capture.asp Very quick and easy to take screenshots, resize files, etc.
So is ScreenPrint32... It also works across multiple monitors... and is FREE! Don't know about Vista compatibility, however.
Hi, Neoxx, hang in there. Go to the futures thread and read it until you puke. Just do not give up. Read Doidge. It is an interesting read by the way. All you'll ever need is in the market. Actually you do not need anybody's help to succeed on your journey... I'm sure, Jack didn't mean it the way he expressed it. Or he just wanted to speed up your progress. On a side note we should never forget, that market knows much more then Jack or anybody else.
Thanks for the words of support, Gucci, but I'm still as committed and motivated as ever. Here's the background to this thread. After accidentally stumbling on some posts by Jack, and doing further reading, I soon glimpsed the terrific potential of SCT. I was incredulous that instead of being accepted with open arms, the theories were slammed from pillar to post. I also felt that some of the concepts hadn't been given the clarity of exposition they deserved (despite enormous efforts from very generous individuals). This could make the material much more accessible, thereby lowering barriers to entry, reaching a larger effective audience, and effecting real change. I sent Jack a PM, offering to help spread the message, albeit in a more direct fashion. The PM went unanswered, and like many newcomers, I divided my time between the Futures journal and the Iterative Refinement thread. In response to some posted logs, I received an unexpected and unsolicited offer of help from Jack. He offered to help me with the logging process, but in a public forum, so that, presumably, many more people could benefit. My acceptance gave birth to what would become the 'bootcamp'. I can fully understand why Jack has given up on the thread. In terms of objective results, he has so far achieved a very poor return on investment of a valuable resource, his time. What's more, I believe the constant repetition of material, technical difficulties with attachments, and the unremitting harrassment from the pack of detractors, whose howls have crescendoed at the sight of a lamb for the slaughter, have all contributed to shifting Jack from a parasympathetic modus, to the much decried sympathetic one. Which is perfectly reasonable. After all, everyone has their limits. My confidence, passion and drive have emerged from the rubble unscathed, and I intend to continue this journey to it's very end. Thanks again, Neo
B/c you cannot do anything in paint that is useful. SnagIt or whatever is a simple, yet complex program that can take screenshots and do quick, easy and neat things with. I used to be a print scr + paint guy myself until I found SnagIt. A time saver if nothing else.
the opjective of bootcamp was to fast track from observer Assessor) to advanced expert by following a path that allowed anyone to spend the hours of a month to accomplish building a foundation and add building blocks completing level by level. The concept of boot camp was oriented to having a singular purpose, commitment to work and using state of the art technology in support of doing the work. I feel everyone tried hard and especially the detractors. Laying out all the levels is something that can be done in a month. Doing the work is focussed on doing drills that are within the reach of any individual. If a critical path is followed, then the rewards are very powerful. A great deal of differentiation occurs directly as a result of manually sitting in a quiet space and building an archive of materials that have been done very simply and in an orderly manner. Bootcamp is a good experience for young people from all walks of life. Not because of the military knowledge and skills so much but more from the physio/psychological viewpoint. Retail trading under optimum conditions is a very powerful alternative for families anywhere in the world. Along the way I wanted to introduce some of the supports that any person learning purposefully can avail themselves to. I felt a few days of going through whole days would have laid a foundation through a Q and A and then other supports could be woven through the facets of boot camp. This thread had to go down further and further to find out what the lock was that no key could be found to open. So what is the necessary support to take "heat" off learning. Many many things have been used as keys over the years. And there are many still being used. There are many many ways to trade and one class of these is to use supports for the PV chart. The other class is to use supports for the trader. Today elswhere, I did one of each. The MACD repair was just put up to extinguish some misconceptions that are out there about signals, no matter where they may originate. The other was an external to the trader, so the trader can hook himself up (via a UBS cable) to be able to eliminate the fear, anxiety, and anger of trading. It is better to make use of it once there is some level of differentiation in the mind.... After the Assessor stage of getting acquainted with trading. Not being able to get logging started and not being able to get color involved were two stumbling blocks for me. This eliminated the bilateral possibility of communication and the building of the archives every trader needs to do anything purposefully. As a consequence, I gave up. When a potential trader is learning, he needs to be equipped and the reason is that it is very important to build a record that is accessable and grows in completeness. This is how the milestones and their importance becomes measurable and valuable. Some things can only be gained by experience; one of those is perspective. The farther you get away from the beginning the more you can see. If you are learning purposefully, keep yourself open to the acquisition of thoughts that you are not seeking. I planned on trading without price at some point as a drill. I also wanted to do some orienteering by putting points on the charts for price to come to in the dimensions of price and time; this is especially good on the beginner level as a segway into advanced beginner. When the details of the non stationary window come into view, this can be done again in reverse. It is always good to know when something can be slipped out of view as time proceeds. As experience piles up and the personal archive has a lot of aha and religious experience tabs, then the Business Plan and the Trading Plan finally merge because about anything in the world becomes possible. The other thing that is very important that gets little shrift in books and vendor sites and remediation places is the degrees of freedom of the market. Around the levels of expert it gets really easy to deal with money; what makes it the way it turns out to be unbelievable and astonishing is how you can steer and focus on the right things at the right time.
Thanks for your continued efforts Jack, I know there are quite a few out there that are getting alot of benefit from what took place. Hopefully, different circumstances will present themselves in the future allowing a more ideal boot camp month.
It began with an offer of help. Unassuming posts and simple interaction, yet from the outset, it was clear that something quite special was taking shape. A glimmer. From humble beginnings, the path was being laid for something grand and powerful and pervasive. The flickering flame of hope. Until ignorance and arrogance quenched this virgin flame... I take full responsibility for jeopardising a process that could have helped thousands of people, directly, then through their actions, perhaps millions more. All doubts could already have been laid convincingly to rest. Instead, I merely fuelled the agitated murmur of the discontented. The embers still hot, perhaps the fire can be rekindled.
