Thoughts Today, I felt a partnership forming. Twenty hours of drills did more to crystallize concepts and inter-relationships than five days of tireless real-time scrutiny. The drills taught me how to use the YM. They taught me how to chart the YM. As a result, the live routine felt practiced and familiar, in a way that hadnât quite happened yet. The story of the day was logged over two pages, with relevant interjections in red and the YM delivering the pretext. Almost like a forming fugue, with still several voices missing. I unequivocally knew that I knew. Recently, a wise man told me some things. He told me to focus. He told me not to let anything or anyone distract me from my goal. An indiscriminate academic cocoon. I had resolved today to eschew methodological differences, for my simplest first recourses. Yet part way through the day the smorgasbord of lessons learnt came to the fore, such that I could no longer distinguish the source of the precepts; they had fused into a unified whole, a Frankenstein, cobbled together from disparate thoughts. Which led me to think of Jokariâs doppelganger, who shares the morbid fascination with windows. Arena and Façade were never cause for concern, but what has now darkened the shadows on the right is my heightening awareness of the differences between the two paths, and the unsettling sensation that I may be mixing my grammar.
