The only track record of hers that is verifiable is this right there. https://www.iasg.com/en/groups/granat-fund-llc-/programs/granat-fund-llc-granat-fund-class-a- Everything else is just hearsay. Just cuz you can google something, doesn't mean its true. Not doubting she used to make a living from it, her edge dried up. Now she prob trades but id bet her performance isn't as good as she claims.
I have a full time career and right now i enjoy following the markets with risk capital because its fun. Agreed most ppl would be better off this way. All my friends who talk stocks are just gamblers, using the stock market as the veil of "investing". No positive EV there for them. 99% of my wealth has been building my net worth in Vanguard funds for almost a decade. I take 1% and have some fun doing market research. Im not kidding myself into thinking im going to generate alpha year in - year out.
They want me to sign up to read whatever is there. I got enough clutter on my computer already. Can you summarize whats said or paste a screen shot. Was LBR actually trading for Granat or were they just using her strategies?
Ill show my research and sources and you can come to your own conclusions. Using OSINT from LinkedIn. (screenshot attached) Pivoting to IASG for public CTA records. (screenshot attached) This is the only public info on her track record I can find.
Thanks Mike; It seems that Granat outperformed the S&P by quite a bit. I couldn't find much more. Retired in 2015 and trades her own account. Why do you doubt that she knows how to trade. Her books are quite expensive. nowhere near best sellers. I at one time believed that there was a secret that the professionals knew that we retail traders might be able to buy. No such luck. The secret is to cut your losses.
I once saw a YouTube video about an institutional trading trainer. His point was institutional traders see what we see in the market. They are just better trained and more experienced, and with access to better tools/software and risk management. For example, institutions have dedicated risk management teams and well defined risk criteria and processes, such as hedges, etc.
%% WFC had a good idea also; we not only want to see your company tax returns[ for mortgage loan ]; we want you to sign the form that lets us see the form the IRS has on that. Worked well, good CPA + truth................................
No question about it. She absolutely did well. My issue is id like to see how she did over a 20 year period. Might sound cliche but anybody can beat the SPX for a few years, but in the long run nobody does. So I guess what I'm saying is how do we know she still does as well as she claims? These patterns she teaches, these newsletters and membership sites, how do we know it does as well as she claims now? We cant, and therefore, I would just question everything and everybody who talks about trading.
I believe it was LBR that said she could give you her trading plan and you probably wouldn't be able to trade it because you wouldn't trust it. I suppose you can't buy trading success, you have to earn it.
%% True in some cases\ IBD founder sold his data + moving averages newspaper for $275,000,000 to WSJ parent co. Most likely made more than FFTY royalties . NEVER did what goals were on single stocks/ but books were well worth it. I dont have LBR Sardine Trading book but great sardine sell $199+/ joke of hers. And the WMT cashier did ask me once ''you like those stinkin sardines'' LOL YES, smoked in soybean oil +not for $199.............................
