Technical analysis

  1. Can use either limit or market. The concept of the play is more important than the fill price, so I'd recommend using market.... Price TA is all about swing-type moves, not scalps.

  3. The chart is 2-min. Much market price information is obscured by longer reference times. EVERYTHING that is on the shortest term charts is also there on longer term ones... but often you can't see it because so much is smooshed together in the larger bar. It's there nonetheless.

  5. Posting your track record is a HUGE hassle if you do it honestly... with no upside.

However, there was a time when my track record was posted by somebody besides me... was posted in Investors Business Daily and Barrons. Got me audited by SEC. (Passed the audit, BTW. :D)

Im with you..My point really is if you are going to delve into technical analysis(or any other methodology),why not follow someone who is successful at their craft ???

  7. I never suggested anybody "follow" me... as I'm not posting "anything" unless I post "everything"... and that's more hassle than it's worth.

I've championed the notion of Price TA for years. It the most obvious, safest and easiest to learn.. and might I say one of the most successful approaches (if not THE most successful) to trading the markets.

Price TA needs no champion nor practitioner to "prove its worth". It's the graphic depiction of what players are doing with their money. A trader needs to recognize that and "do what the market is doing".

  9. Another example from Monday, 9/4...

    Monday.PNG

Notice how the market "built" support at 4518... and built resistance at 4532... then later tested the support built at 4518. THAT'S WHAT THE MARKET IS SAYING. The trading range is a time of indecision... traders should play the range extremes until "the market makes up its mind"... "Price TA". KISS, baby!

(There is more to Price TA than these simple setups*, of course. However, one can make a good living getting only setups like these correct. Start with the easiest and most simple then add to your knowledge.)

    * Someone asked me one time, "how many Price TA correlations do you you know"?. I rattled off about 30 of them without blinking an eye. I'm sure there are more than that. Many of them don't occur all that often. For beginners I'd suggest learning about 3 or 4 of them... then "watch like a hawk" and trade them with discipline. The more esoteric can come later.

IF YOU CAN READ A ROAD MAP, YOU CAN LEARN TO TRADE "PRICE TA". KISS, baby!

  10. Good Morning Scataphagos,

When swing trading Price TA, how do you handle the staying the trade for the big profits? Do you use targets or just use your eyes to manage the trade.
