What he keeps ignoring is that directional volatility increases near those levels and that's what makes money for traders, wanna trade chop?
I must have slept through my more than 12 years on the ib sell-side and hedge fund side and most of the promotions must have been due to dumb luck.
It's obvious you held a high paid technical position in the past but your demeanor in the present is indicative of difficulty finding the cheese and since you're biggest gripe involves trader's imo whatever position you held in the past didn't prepare you for where you are now, which appears to be trying to trade and not knowing how. If any of that's incorrect then please correct it because it's not my intent to disparage you. I'm only interested in the truth. What's the part of your story that you left out of that post? I'm interested in understanding what you're so wound up about that's causing you to disrupt this thread.
My interest is volpunter is limited to clarifying the cause of a disparity where he claims TA doesn't work and to prove his point he mocks your analysis in a way which indicates he doesn't understand TA or the importance of price levels.
Most pro traders are very arrogant people, especially towards retail traders. Not surprised at his attitude.
I haven't seen any indications volpunter is a trader. It's my impression he's worked in the trading industry as a very high paid and highly skilled hardware and software guru. IMO he's very capable in those areas but I can't imagine him as being a successful trader. Too many contradictions. Hopefully he will correct any errors and then we'll know the truth.
