Surf,at one point I thought you had some connections to the hedge fund world, but it is clear you dont...

What do you think the quant shops do???

What sort of algorithms do you think the mean reversion type trades employ??

Automation is the norm, not the exception......

I think you and Rcan are stuck reading yestserdays news......

Rubbish, TA can be used to interpret price action and will rely on the adaptive ingenuity of the human mind, you wont be able to automate it but TA will be making you successful none the less

  3. yeah, im just slightly connected to the hedge world :D

i don't believe algo trading using vwap to enter, etc is TA. im talking about tradestation style TA--the kind retail uses.

p.logic claims automation, i say his method relies greatly on subjective factors and is far less profitable than his claims, as well as JH.

by the way, us equity trading is yesterday's news for cutting edge funds. we are involved in uncorrelated non equity niche type strategies so im not up to speed on the latest equity shops tactics--if they still exist---just kidding!

I will grant you there are much easier methods of making money than picking direction, and non equity niche trades are definetly one of them....

I am a bit slow, but it appears you may be a believer that there are people who employ T.A. successfully, but not nearly as Prof and JH would have us believe....

I will leave you and Rcan to fight that battle.....

  8. no, one's intuitive process will be making you succesful.

if not, tradestation strategies based on crossovers or whatever, and p.logic type decision making trees could/would actually do what is claimed when tested in real time.
