No, once the trade is taken TA should tell you too how long to stay in the trade. But unfortunatelly not everybody can do that. That's part of the edge. You see TA as finding the entry only, but that's only half of the job. And about that Prudent Money Management, the better the TA the less you need a sophisticated Prudent Money Management. In fact my Prudent Money Management is a stop on X points that's all. And it works perfect because TA tells me when to get out BEFORE being stopped out. My average holding time intraday is probably from 1 till 6 hours. That's why I use TA.
I learned long ago that TA works and it works well. I also learned long ago that the only real edge in Trading is Prudent Money/Risk Management and that does not just mean setting an initial stop. Most traders cannot or will not utilize Prudent Money/Risk Management. --Most traders lose. Thank you once again and finally, for your time.
I think you demonstrated here why there are always dicussions about what works and what does not work. You wrote I also learned, so all we post is always from a personal point of view and experience. Each trader has to find out what works for him. What you tell is probably right for you but not right for me and vice versa.
oh yeahhhhh, parrots.. easter egg... at 1 minute and 30 seconds I'm legendary! in my oh yeahhhhh mind! c'mon ya'll, say it!
TA is like driving forward looking in the review mirror. Conceptually ok but i wouldn't want to be on the interstate doing that. Trade accordingly ...
I'm curious. In this driving analogy of yours, what method is "the windshield" that lets you see "the road ahead" (aka the future)?
