By 'failure' I didn't mean in a monetary sense. I started off very slowly and a couple times I thought I 'had it', further observation proved me wrong. This was mentally draining but I pushed ahead taking the best and 'leaving the rest'. Eventually I was able to put the pieces of something together and have been trading it for over 10 years full time. What 'truth'? You assumed something incorrect. It wouldn't be the first time.... PS Started with 25k...your memory is not too sharp.
Ok, most of us would equate failure in trading to losing money, but I guess for paper traders it might be something else or for hobbyists who have other income or wealth. You are a decent writer, are you sure you are not a vendor or author in disquise? Being well versed in pattern recognition, I have a good guess who! You made enough off of 25K without prop shop leverage to survive? Wouldn't that mean 100s of percent per year at a minimum? Is this what you are claiming? In addition, please define professional trader. In my opinion, if you have any other source of income including wife or family--that pays some bills--- you are a hobbyist. Surf
what timeframe charts do you successful traders use when it comes to spotting patterns from which to enter trades, out of interest?
Your statements regarding my instigating personal attacks are one ongoing lie. Your constant postings saying I PM people to solicit them. Your statement in your journal about taking a break till July is another. Your statement about going to Canada on Friday. The list is endless.
Just because you find it necessary to have multiple aliases to hide behind doesn't mean we all do. Fireplace is not me. He has a lot more patience with you than I have. I've dealt with you long enough I can see through all of your personalities with perfect clarity. He hasn't had to dealt with the onslaught of attacks you and your banned aliases sent at me.
My failures were temporary, that is the point. Temporary failures met with persistence lead to successes. You gotta get back on the horse otherwise you'll wander around aimlessly looking for something that you can succeed at the first time. Chances are THAT 'something' won't pay very well though. For the 10th time, I'm not a vendor or an author. Thanks for the compliment though. So let me get this straight, when you get married and your wife brings in some income, then we can call what you do for a living (writing about the mkts) just a hobby? PS A simple definition of a pro trader would be someone who trades a mkt or multiple markets, does so full time (no other job) and derives the majority of their income solely from their trading exploits. The can either trade from an office, from home or from wherever they feel comfortable. PS Sorry for the late response, was engaged in my profession.
Huh? Why do you think everything is a reference to yourself? Persecution complex or something? Why you care about my validation of your method--- I don't understand. Questioning your frankly unbelievable claims is not a personal attack. Do you or Did you once claim to trade with 100% accuracy?
It's only because I was so anal about not blowing through cash. I would have easily done the same as you, but then I wouldnt have been able to continue. So I had to suck it up and spend 2 years essentially trading very small and infrequently while most of my time was spent observing, writing and shifting ideas around to create a workable method. It paid off but it was a tough 2 years.
