Technology products and services have become cheaper, more competitive, more commoditized and less profitable. Is this a local phenomenon, a bear-market spending slump, or a longer term trend?

If PC performance versus cost continues to increase, won’t we reach a point where consumers and business virtually stop upgrading their hardware? What future catalysts, if any, will drive hardware demand once all required software demands are satisfied?

What about the ever-increasing oversupply of IT, CS and Engineering labor being trained by universities? Will the job supply ever increase? Where will labor demand be created?

Does anyone analyze the semiconductor sector with enough confidence to hold positions for weeks or months?
