  1. It's not beneficial to you to have this attitude. Who gains? No one. You deserve big fat juicy returns.

Edit: you may want to read "No more mr. nice guy". I realized I was not a fake nice guy like described in the book but I had all the actions because of my upbringing. Not that the book made any difference, but just pointed out the patterns.

It made me decide to stay away from people who wanted me in that box. I am free, nigga.

Of course it is not beneficial for me to have this attitude! That is what I am saying. I am trying to self-medicate with humor! Oi!

I shall now spit at you, and cast magic!

  3. FWIW, "nice guys" often try to distract with humor. Check out the book.

Hmm? I do not know what you are referring to. I grew up in the New York City area. Also know as the tri-state area, the "city", or "metro".

I dunno' of any "nice guys". I've heard of the "wise guys". Like Teflon Don, he threw a huge party on July 4th one year on a street in Brooklyn. Had a whole Dumpster right there in the street, people were tossing all sorts of stuff into it, anything that was flammable and/or would blow up. What a block party that was.

I do not "distract" with humor. I "self-medicate" with humor. Totally different thing.

  5. If you aren't getting what you want out of life, you're doing something wrong and have to make change. MAKE LIFE YOUR BITCH.

Mmmm. I've thought about this. To me, it is not a matter of "getting something out of life", because life is only what you make. Life is not a thing you take things from. It is something we create for ourselves.

There is no blank slate or entity that is "life", that we take bits from.

Nay, we create the life which we then live. We are the ones who CREATE the life of the world, and then partake in that which we have created.

Pretty heavy concepts for the programming section. We've all gone off on a tangent from fan27's OP methinks.

No, not married into wealth but instead lucky to have a good day job, saved and invested, allowing me to retire really early.

To pass time I could go to Vegas and play poker or blackjack. I chose trading instead, especially trading options, kind of like being a venture capitalist without the headache of dealing with people.

Sir, you are a good guy so I have some humble advice for you: We never know who we are talking to in an anonymous forum and to be better traders, to learn something useful on ET, us newbies do need to be humble and have thick skins.

    Take care my friend.
