Teaching the Wife to Trade

Discussion in 'Psychology' started by Arthur Deco, Sep 15, 2010.

  1. see same link posted above for the examples below ....

    (1) nobody else could teach it to me or us - we were suffering, couldn't sleep - the subject was too tough - then came the mentor out of the blue and said to me, "I can help you" ... refused money. And yep, he took me from floundering to master in 6 months. Of course, the guy was just a genius. The subject was DYNAMICS OF A PARTICLE

    (2) In this particular case I wasn't floundering - actually was doing quite well - so a mentor wasn't really necessary - but he appeared anyway when he heard me close a customer right in the office. He asked, "how would you like to take your closing % thru' the roof?

He had nothing to gain from this.

Then he said, "The first person who speaks after a closing question has been delivered, LOSES!!!!!"

We drilled it for 10 minutes to make sure I got the concept.

    Long story short ... I retired at age 39. :D :D

    Arthur,

I am concerned by the 21 "systems" you are using. I was going to pm you, but you have that feature on ET disabled.

All jokes aside, I'm willing to help you. I trade OPM, and in the south where I live, people here have guns and will shoot a guy like me if I lose $$$$ as a RIA. Needless to say, I don't lose money!!!!!!! I'm now only up 5.1%, but my beta is .35... NOT 1.00 as the SPY. I trade spot Fx, LEAPS, and the ES for my own account, as I'm not as risk adversed as 90%+ of my Clients.

I wanted to know if you are holding no load funds, ETF's, LEAPS puts, etc., for your retirement account, and using the monthly income to speculate the ES, NQ, etc., with to make the leveraged trades you are making. IMO, you need to have a % of your retirement $$$$$ in investments that are without YOUR emotion. NO, I don't want to be your Broker or IA. Lol

I only have two "systems," and they are simple. Not as easy as using the ATM at the local gas station, but highly profitable even though the strategies are close to 400 years old... Hint!

I went to the home of the widow this evening who's husband raised me, and I thought about you on the way there. He was a State Police Trooper starting in the 1950's, and retired in the late 1970's. He was basically my Dad. He was about doing the right thing even when it meant his nuckles would bleed when he beat the sh*t out of a pedofile on the way to jail. He treated good people good, and the bad one's bad...

I wore the same uniform after coming out of the Marine Corps, and LEARNED so much about life, and I suffered over what I had to see while doing that job as I got my MBA (waste of $$$$ IMO), but learned how to be a Stock Broker for Merrill Lynch out of NY, NY.

Needless to say, I learned the hard way. I don't want you to learn the hard way at your age. All jokes aside as I know your age, and KNOW you don't won't to go back to work if you blow out your retirement $$$$ at your age.

PM me, and we'll talk. I'll call you, and we'll go from there. Oh yes, I will hit you with some "old guy" jokes,:D but I look so old these days that younger people ask, "were you in Vietnam?"

I'm in my late 30's, NOT late 60's like a a few of my Vietnam Vet Clients are. Guess Desert Storm in 1991, and Iraq 2003-2004 as a USMC Reserve Officer made me look a littler "older.":( The little $$$$ I made as a USMC Mustang wasn't worth the hitch pain imo, especially as an "older" guy...

Just want to help you as a guy who has 21 "systems" and is 65 or so, needs imo to narrow that down to one or two systems max.

NO, there's NO WAY our Wives will EVER trade or learn to trade, even if we are making Gordon Gecko $$$$$$$ unless they're interested in what we do... Don't ask her to learn the 21 "systems" you have imo. Make the $$$$, and let her be what she wants to be...

Hope all is well Sir! Carry on!:)

  4. Nothing stupider than a pussy?

    Then how do you explain

"a pussy can bring a man to his knees with ease"

"the american male has been totally emasculated by the american female"

all well-known easy to observe phenomena.

    :)

  5. About TZ, there is a clearly visible indicator at ET. And it works like a charm. Almost flawless.

You see, it was TZ who singlehandedly exposed ET as an unsuccessful trader haven. God bless him. :)

Therefore the indicator runs thusly ......

    (1) the greater the intensity of the negative comment of anyone against TZ, the greater the trading losses of the TZ-abuser. Therefore all those who have him on ignore are born losers from day 1.

    (2) those who express +ve comments and feelings about TZ are either borderline winners or moderate winners. I am the only exception, being a current loser.

From my observation and study at ET during my ongoing internship, this is an excellent indicator which came home to me when I came across Cabletrader.

Cabletrader wins and wins consistently. I don't need to see his PnLs. And he is neutral to +ve about TZ.

--- end of digression about TraderZones, may he live a looong life ---- :)

  6. My felicitations on your success. I was also a salesman of sorts, selling large government cuntracks. My epiphany came in a sales course where they taught that "you can have everything you want if you'll help other people get everything they want." That and a rapacious mercantile jewish business partner (sorry for the multiple redundancies) taught me that "it costs you no money to be nice to people." I am proud that over my long and wasted life I have mentored many people. Mostly women who needed to learn to be comfortable with easy virtue. That was the only reliable use I ever found for NLP, which I have used for so long that I don't even know I do any more.

  7. You have indeed lived an interesting life. Be careful and don't do that any more. I, too, live in the South. Only place to be, IMO. Liberal gun laws. There is a reason I disabled PMing. As to 21 systems, something magical happens when you keep developing systems even though you don't need them. You begin to see sadistical correlations between events. I have come to the conclusion that there is no such thing as two uncorrelated systems. I thank you kindly for your offer of instruction. But I am ineducable at my age. I already know it all. To answer your question, index funds, high-dividend low-payout stocks, metals, cash-equivalents. And my futures trading is not speculative. It is a sure thing. At least one time out of four. The other three times the market was wrong, not me.

  8. Repeat after me "TZ is a total dickhead." And I don't give a shit if anybody thinks I can trade or not. It's like how big my dick is. I know. As do a select few confidants. About both, that is.

  9. Then try this .... since you live in the south this ought to be interesting ....

go into any clock shop where many lookers are working. Pick one counter that has one such looker, go up to her, and whip out your dick, plunk it on the counter and say in a calm, matter-of-fact tone, "can you please put 2 hands and a face on this?"
