I can't imagine a 6-year old kid having a motive to kill. Can you? I think the kid's parents should be held responsible. The investigators are also idiots. This country is just filled with morons.

That is already underway. The primary question being “where the kid get the gun from?”

Tangentially, in Sweden there is an increasing problem with younger and younger kids being involved in heavy crime including shootings. 10 (or was it 9) year olds have been arrested with pistols. It's all related to gangs and the narcotics trade in our case, some teenager simply gives them a gun (e.g. to safekeep for the gang).

Children are easily impressed, nor do they accurately judge what they're throwing away (at least one life, their own) by taking up that shit. Anecdotally, when I was 7 year old I was playing "teenage mutant hero turtles" and beating up my brothers with sticks. Now, if there had been constant exposure to gun violence at that age, I might have considered guns a logical toy instead. Point is that it's all just play, right, young children can't separate it from reality and its consequences.

If children are so easily impressed, the problem then lies with the parents and the media (in fact, the entire society) that foster violence. What's worse, they turn blind eye to violence in the name of freedom (eg, violent movies under the pretext of freedom of speech or whatnot). People have become so dull they can no longer tell what is real or fiction anymore. To them, it's just one more tragic life that abruptly ended. Just one more statistic that appears on your favorite evening news. "Hey, as long as it's not mine, who cares?" seems to be the motto. We live in an age of delusion. Everyone is mentally sick.
