Tea party revolution starting, Giffords shot dead.

  1. When secession consists of filing a lawsuit, there is no violence.

And that's all anyone in Texas is talking about. It's what Rick Perry referred to, and it's what the legal strategists are preparing. Lawsuits. Period. They believe they have a case based on the agreement that was made with the US congress in 1845 and a court case that was decided in 1901 (the name of the case escapes me at the moment, but I'm sure you'd find it you tried.)

But be careful of us sneaky Californians. We're buying guns and ammo by the boatload. Our new/old governor, Jerry Brown, is also a gun owner and loves to shoot.

    -------------------
Jerry Brown angered gun control proponents, especially when he urged the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn Chicago's handgun ban. "I have respect for the Second Amendment," said Brown, who owns three guns and targets shoots occasionally on his ranch east of Chico, Calif. "Gun ownership is a fundamental right.".

  2. Here's an article on peaceful secessions around the world.

"From 1790 until 1990 there were only a few cases of successful peaceful secession. Belgium seceded from the Netherlands in 1830; Norway from Sweden in 1905; and Singapore from the Malaysian Federation in 1965. All were negotiated peacefully. "

"But suddenly after 1990, the number of successful peaceful secessions surged. Fifteen republics seceded from the Soviet Union. A Czech and a Slovak republic were created out of Czechoslovakia through secession. "

  5. Mr Davis If thats what you believe ,I respectfully disagree.

IMO Perrys comment was not about peaceful secession,it was about riling up the extreme right wingers much like Angles 2nd amendment remedies,Palins targeting and reloading,Allen West's Revolution talk, republicans quoting Jefferson's "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants" etc

  6. This is about Giffords shooter

"A series of rambling and jarring videos posted on his personal Web site under the handle “Classitup10,” paint the portrait of a searching conspiracy theorist fixated on the American flag, perversion of the Constitution and “illiterate” people living in Arizona’s 8th District, which Giffords represents."

  8. It's just a matter of time until the US breaks up into new countries. At least two, and perhaps as many as three or four.

It won't happen violently. The blue states will be happy to be rid of the red states, and the red states will be happy to be rid of the blues. It will all happen quite peacefully over the next 50 years or so.
