  1. "Most of the resources go into live trading rather than paper" sounds reasonable to me. Why would they invest heavily to support papertraders? I'm sure they don't support Angry Birds players either.

The paper trading and Live trading DOM are the same on the TOS Java platform, assuming you have a funded account with them. There is not a 20 minute delay in the paper trading DOM data or the charts. That is one of the good things about the TOS paper trading platform. The bad thing is that the fill algorithm in the paper trading DOM is terrible and will consistently give you unrealistic fills in your favor. In fact, it is so bad that it is just as easy for you to make money scalping using the paper trade DOM in TOS as it is for a market maker who lives off the spread to make money. Would that trading in real life was that easy! Oh, and the TOS DOM is not a real DOM since it does not give the depth of the market ten deep, as is standard, but only gives the size for the inside bid and offer.

  3. Oh, really?

    How about multicharts discretionary?

No? Interactive Brokers or Zen Fire Dom?

I hate the P/L at 17,600 with open (10,000). It was at 35.

  4. I think t&s is delayed in paper, charts are real time and Quotes delayed.

  6. Now I see the DOM, at least for me, is in delayed data, but uses real time market fills for trades, meaning the bid and ask do not let you dom sim trade on the 20 minute delayed data, rather, it's stupidity was for delayed dom data but real time market fills.

Still incorrectly designed, but, now that I understand that, I'd gotten good results.

    So, summary,

    Time and Sales real time

    Charts real time

DOM displays delayed bid and ask data but fills based on real time.

This is logged under paper money for TD Ameritrade's think or swim simulator.
