As above, today Charles Schwab announced new lower commissions. The fee will be a flat $8.95 per online equity trade. Are you already paying less than $9.99 per trade at TD Ameritrade? If so, how much are you paying and how many trades are you placing per month?

Reuters: UPDATE 1-TD Ameritrade could change fees - CEO Tue Feb 2, 2010 12:59pm EST Stocks * CEO says listening to 'active traders' and 'key clients' * Fidelity, Schwab cut trading fees in price war NEW YORK, Feb 2 (Reuters) - TD Ameritrade Holding Corp (AMTD.O), facing a price war, is prepared to match new low fees at Fidelity Investments if key clients demand it, the online brokerage's chief executive said on Tuesday. Fred Tomczyk, speaking at a Morgan Stanley conference, said TD Ameritrade will monitor Fidelity's move but has no reason to make fee changes now. Fidelity is cutting its fees to $7.95 per trade for U.S. equities. TD Ameritrade has charged $9.99 per trade since 2006. [ID:nN02238873] Tomczyk said there has been no impact from Charles Schwab Corp's (SCHW.O) move last month to lower its fees to $8.95 per trade. He said he would not be surprised to see the whole industry adopt lower, flat pricing plans, and eliminate per-share charges, as TD Ameritrade has. "I definitely think this is a zero-sum game," Tomczyk said of industry price changes. "If one of our more active traders or our key clients comes to us and says, 'I'm going ... to Fidelity for its $7.95 ... because you're at $9.99,' we would just match it," he added. "It's a very quick conversation." However, he added, "The reality is most (clients) don't."
