I was opening a futures account a while back and my account would have been rejected but the guy on the phone hinted/implied without actually saying "change your income level" lol. Funny stuff.
Like it was said before, your broker doesn't care at all, they're just protecting themselves. They won't allow you to lose them money anyway, but they have to worry about you losing all your money, and then suing them. That's all they're concerned about. As soon as you lie to them, you can't sue them, so they're ok.
just join a remote prop firm so you dont have to deal with the retail BS. with retail you have be deal with PDT rules, margin rules, etf rules, no have no decent buying power, you pay high commissions, no MOC imbalances etc. go the prop route
I know this thread is very old but I recently just had similar experience. They rejected my margin application. I tried to resubmit but apparently they don't care and still reject my app. Do you know it would work if I close the account and re-open with them again with updated information?
