tax rates and the constitution

  1. I have an overdue excise tax bill for my car that is supposed to be paid to my town. And yes, I'll be charged more interest the longer I don't pay it. I haven't paid it yet because it fucking pisses me off.

WHY THE HELL DO I HAVE TO PAY MORE THAN MY FRIENDS?! My bill is like $200 and my friends' are all like $35. I'm not even fucking rich. I probably have about the same net worth as them, but I just happen to have a newer car. HOW DOES THAT JUSTIFY ME PAYING MORE THAN THEM!? WE ALL DRIVE ON THE SAME DAMN ROADS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If it costs $1,000,000 a year to maintain the roads, they should divide that number by the number of car drivers and THAT IS WHAT I WILL AGREE TO PAY. ANYTHING ELSE, AND THEY CAN GO FUCK THEMSELVES. That's what I'm going to write on my check. "WILLING TO PAY COST TO MAINTAIN ROADS DIVIDED BY # OF CAR DRIVERS IN MY TOWN. IF YOU DON'T LIKE THAT, COME FUCKING ARREST ME"

Is this even constitutionally legal?! How can I fight this?! I know it's probably a lost cause, but I don't want to give in.

YOU ALL SHOULDN'T FILE FUCKING INCOME TAX RETURNS EITHER, BECAUSE THE TAX CODE IS A GOD DAMN JOKE!!!! WRITE ON YOUR TAX FORMS "WILL FILL OUT WHEN YOU MAKE IT COMPREHENSIBLE."

WE NEED TO STOP GIVING IN AND REVOLT. I want to know if it is constitutionally legal for my town to charge me more than my friend to drive on the same roads when I don't have any more money than he does. I have no problem paying my share, but my share needs to be based on something constitutionally fair.

IT MAKES NO SENSE!!!! I am driving on the SAME ROADS as my friend, but I'm paying 6x more than he is!!!!!!! WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! COME FUCKING ARREST ME!!!!!!! AND GO AHEAD AND CHARGE ME A FUCKING PENALTY, TOO!!!!!!!!!!!

I should run for some type of office. Who the hell is not going to agree with me?!?!?!

Only one solution fruits, move to Florida.

  3. Huh?

Sell your newer car and buy an older one and quite bitching.

  4. GET REAL. MY FRIEND AND I BOTH DRIVE ON THE SAME ROADS. WHY SHOULD I PAY 6X AS MUCH AS HIM??????? I'M NOT 6X AS RICH. BUT THAT SHOULDN'T MATTER ANYWAY. IT SHOULD BE COST TO MAINTAIN ROADS DIVIDED BY # OF DRIVERS.

PLEASE EXPLAIN STEP BY STEP, HOW ACCORDING TO OUR CONSTITUTION, THEY CAN DO THIS. I'M TALKING THE REAL CONSTITUTION, NOT A TWISTED VERSION OF IT..OR SOME BOGUS INTERPRETATION.

    ANSWER ME.

  5. ACTUALLY, NO; HOW ABOUT THEY MAKE THE FEES FAIR INSTEAD? WHO'S YOUR HERO, TOM DASCHLE (DEFINITION OF FUCKING IDIOT)?

BTW, IT'S BECAUSE OF PEOPLE LIKE YOU THAT DON'T BITCH (and tell others to stop!), AND ACCEPT THIS SHIT, THAT THEY GET AWAY WITH IT.

  6. You should only have to pay 6 times more than your neighbors if you're driving a 12 wheeled vehicle. Really, though, I think that there is a city or state law that applies in this case. You should get consultation from a lawyer. It's usually free, and they love these kinds of cases.... not quite as much as medical malpractice, but a lawyer can make a rep off of a case vs. the government.

  7. Which is why you should go see a lawyer. DON'T PUT UP WITH THIS SHIT!!! In fact, find other people that are pissed like you are, and file a class action or something. Form a lobbying group for fair taxation.

  8. For the record, I hate Tom Daschle! On the federal level, I am in favor of a flat tax across the board for all brackets of income OR a consumption tax.

I do not know the intricacies of the constitution, but this does not seem to be a constitutional issue. This is a legal issue specific to your town or state.

Bitching on Elite Trader is child's play and mental masterbation when it comes to tax issues. That is my point. This is not the appropriate forum for this. Run for town council or state rep or take steps that will directly have an impact on this (and we agree here) unequitable tax structure.

    Huh!

  9. fruity, you are probably experiencing bad Karma. Perhaps you were a socialist in a past life.

  10. I agree with everything you said. I started this thread to see if anyone agrees with me, to see if people think I have a valid argument, to see what I can do about it, and partly to vent. Also, maybe posting this here will encourage others to complain, too. I looked for a phone # on my tax bill, but what do you, there isn't one. They're probably closed today anyway.
