I am a Canadian and would like to know if I can write of my commissions as an expense? Is this possible?

  2. Didn't see your question until now. Your commissions are accounted for in calculating the adjusted cost base in your trades.
    For example,
    Proceeds - (cost +commissions+ taxes paid+transaction fees)= capital gain/loss.
These are taxed at a 50% amount , so only half on the gains are taxable.
