'Hmmmmm.....You think this might be a slight exaggeration??' yes, truly speaking i would even take 'slight' out of the sentence. but Nano was a solid long step in forward direction for Indian Auto industry.
I remember wanting a small car for years and years but I don't know of any model for sale here in the USA. I want an inexpensive fuel efficient little car, maybe just one seat with a trunk so I can go to the store and bring groceries home. Tata Motors ADR stock symbol TTM. http://finance.google.com/finance?q=NYSE:TTM shows net income, revenue, assets, liabilities, equity all increasing.
The basic model has no air conditioning, power steering, antilock brakes or electric windows, though a couple of deluxe models will offer air conditioning. It also has no rear seat belts. Now there's a car everybody has been waiting for. Actually it's a great car -- until you get in an accident
disposable cars drive it a few months, when it stops working, or you get in an accident, just forget it and get a new one
'The basic model has no air conditioning, power steering, antilock brakes or electric windows' No A/C - Good, A/c is bad for health anyways power steering - no biggie, some exercise is good electric windows - no biggie, better to have some exercise Anti Lock Brakes is some thing I would like to see on this car also. In addition if some reinforcements or mechanisms can be added that would enhance the security in the event of collision would be highly welcome even if prices goes up by $500. Btw, $2500 price does not include VAT and delivery as mentioned before. While we might never see Nano in NA but from its experience the competent car makers like Ford, GM and other will definately be able to comeup with very cheap and efficient cars to a) beat oil prices b) reduce burden on middle class famlies which are getting hit by rising costs like kids educations and other daily items. For the rest, who still want to 'borrow and splurge' on the Palace on Wheels, they are most welcome
