Since I left the AMEX in 2010, My personal trading is VERY small and monitored by my firm. So are my emails, instant messages and ET conversations. I have a number of futures account for CTAs to trade for me. I only trade when I get bored. The money outside my managed money is not traded activity anymore. I'm happy with the returns they provide.

Their website is live now. They have some screenshots of their software. It looks like this thing is coming in pieces. I'm curious what their offerings are going to be on futures options since TOS is VERY limited compared to IB. Of course they don't even have futures set up yet.

Is there really space for another broker? It seems like the industry is consolidating with the smaller guys getting bought out by the bigger guys. The angle I see here is they are going to upsell a lot of services, training, seminars, etc to their customers. They look like a cheaper version of TOS but is that enough to compete with IB?

Portfolio margin in March, futures coming shortly, absolutely no soliciting or upselling, all the seminars are absolutely free, all research and data at tastytrade is free. Don't see how anyone could ask for much more. Sosnoff already has 750 million in the bank...his goal now is to stick it to the money managers and empower the retail trader to manage his own money. TRading platform is shaping up to be a streamlined, bloat free, super fast version of Think or Swim. Can't wait! See you at the Miami show...already holding my FREE ticket.

Has anyone tried re-negociating their commissions with TDA,using the tastyworks commission schedule?

I hope tasty works is bringing more to the table then lower rates because I DO think TOS can match those rates. So then what is the point behind tasty works. They are simply a less capitalized version of TOS.

If TD Ameritrade (TOS) will match those rates then I wouldn't really see a reason to move. With all tastytrade content for free anyway, rates are their big selling point so far. FWIW, I'd be surprised if TDA matches but it'll be fun to try.

They will match the rates. I just don't think they will match the rates for small accounts.
