Many global car makers already ignore the US market. The list can expand. This tariff will allow US car makers to raise prices as well, corporate profits likely to increase but lower and middle classes will pay for this.

  2. Exactly why they will move their factories to USA so they can "grow" or "keep"a huge (market share = Americans) without the tariffs. Otherwise, they lose that growth they are now exporting to us. Who wants to lose their sales to us? We are a huge economic machine. They won't open their markets to us but want our consumers to buy from them. So, now they are in an uproar cause they are going to lose. Donald Trump likely knows exactly what he is doing.

    Get it?????

  3. You see it all wrong. The world will have to come to USA with their production or lose our "huge" market. They are all making bad decisions. It will hugely hurt them. We will make it. They think they are going to retaliate against us? Bad mistake. They better change their mind or suffer in a terrible economic way. The ball is in their court. Let us see what they will do.

So you don’t actually have a reason you can articulate yourself.

it will take decades and there’s no labor force to even support, especially given that we are kicking out millions of illegals (most of whom work and whose jobs have to be filled with natives at very low wages).

Since it will take a long time to bring the supply chains back, the world will continue to sell to Americans but Americans will pay more, which will hurt the poor the most. There will be a shrinking of demand which will impact those services which sell the imported goods.

and of course we haven’t even talked about retaliatory tariffs.

  7. I don't have a manufacturing operation, so you have a point. Also, I gave up on reading ANY type of news, which will be easier said than done, but I want to read books, and just focus on other things, like the gym, etc. Off to see my doctor in 30 minutes, and go over my blood tests. It's all about health at this stage. Exciting times, as I no longer have to read anything related to finance...

You don't, but that's ok - markets do and they are reacting. Let's see if the clown counter-reacts or better yet acquiesce.

    Moving on.

The poor can't afford $700 monthly car payments anyway, maybe an E-bike.
In 6 months, big economic reversal.
