I don't think Congress intended this to happen but the temporary TARP Inspector General's Office has created it's own national Police Force complete with cop cars with radios and sirens and agents with badges, guns and arrest powers. And, everyone thought the TARP Inspector General's Office was going to be a bunch of accountants making sure any fraud was discovered and prosecuted by proper authorities. After all, when the remaining 30% of outstanding TARP debt is repaid the Inspector General's office is to dissolve.
