Tariffs hurt the countries who have tariffs on their products. It makes their products more expensive reducing demand for those products. Most products nowadays are sourced from multiple countries. Higher priced goods will have less sales and maybe, even result in losses for the manufacturers. That is why the European Union, Canada and China the biggest abusers of tariffs are now crying over the US imposing tariffs on them. Nothing more fair than reciprocal tariffs. You can reduce tariffs to zero and both the US and Vietnam benefit and it is a win-win for both countries. President Donald Trump is a genius and I am glad he is our US President. This is a long time coming.
'It won't be easy': Trump scrambles to defend tariff chaos with plea for patience The day after Wall Street was once again sent into a sell-off frenzy over fears of Donald Trump's sweeping tariffs announcement earlier in the week, the president took to his Truth Social platform to try and calm nerves while at the same time admitting there will be tough times ahead. With reports noting Wall Street has lost $11 trillion in value since Trump was inaugurated, with $6 trillion gone in the past 48 hours, the president claimed, without evidence, that things are worse for China. He then added, "We are bringing back jobs and businesses like never before. Already, more than FIVE TRILLION DOLLARS OF INVESTMENT, and rising fast! THIS IS AN ECONOMIC REVOLUTION, AND WE WILL WIN." "HANG TOUGH, it won’t be easy, but the end result will be historic,"
Trump's failed Atlantic City casino demolished before cheering crowd This article is more than 4 years old Former Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino in New Jersey, once a hotspot during a decade of excess, reduced to rubble David Smith in Washington Wed 17 Feb 2021 The fall of a leader with authoritarian instincts is usually symbolised by toppled statues and looted palaces. For Donald Trump, perhaps inevitably, it was the demolition of a failed casino. On Wednesday the former Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, was reduced to rubble in 20 seconds by 3,000 sticks of dynamite. It had fallen into such disrepair that chunks of the building had been tumbling to ground... ......... The Plaza’s end came at around 9am with a series of explosions. The building imploded and a huge cloud of dust consumed the beach and famed Atlantic City boardwalk. There were cheers from a viewing party of people who had paid $10 to watch from their cars. Marty Small, the city mayor who had described the abandoned building as an eyesore, told the Associated Press: “I got chills. This is a historic moment. It was exciting.” https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/feb/17/trump-casino-demolished-atlantic-city-failed
The problem is that Trump has no timeline for how long America needs to be patient while it suffers from his tariffs even though he PROMISED to fix it all on Day 1 if he were elected President to a 2nd term. Well...it didn't happen and now he needs to go full monty on tariffs but it didn't expect the United States biggest trading partners to fight back after all of his name calling, bullying tactics with his tariff war. Reminder, this isn't just about tariffs by a 34x convicted felon. It's about his condescending behavior towards world leaders, sucking up to Russia while it's raging war on Ukraine, Israel back to bombing Gaza, counter-attacking Houthis (I do support this), threats of withdrawal from NATO, threats to use military force if necessary to seize other democratic countries who have never shown military aggression towards the United States, and a South African/Canadian immigrant who's not elected while causing thousands of Americans to lose their jobs. Other countries (our allies) now have travel advisories warning their citizens not to travel to the United States. All of his bullshit helped make a bad situation about money so much worst beyond money as his approval ratings continue to decline faster than the prior U.S. President. The sad part is that there's no timeline for how long America needs to suffer with this bullshit while other countries are pumping billions of dollars back into their economies to strengthen their trading partnerships with each other without the United States. Amazingly, other countries have not set down at the table to form/sign a new trade alliance but that's because the U.S. dollar is still the king currency. Yet, if the Euro returns to the numbers it had during Trump's first term... I can see the United States being left to stand alone as it has been threatening to do. Last of all, as stated...other countries are uniting within their countries while the division continues to grow within the United States now that thousands more will be losing their jobs, pensions, and financial stability...a lot of these people voted for Trump. As an ex-military officer in the Army, I've been watching closely the moral of the U.S. Armed Forces. Unfortunately, more active duty officers are being asked to command our Reserves and National Guard...a decline that begin when Trump first took office in 2016. The good news, the moral has been rising since 2024 but new requirements will not inspire new recruits to join considering America's youths are still a mess...not able to pass the military entrance exam (ASVAB) nor able to pass the fitness test. Simply, the military can change within but the problem is still the youths before they try to join the U.S. Armed Forces especially now that the new administration has taken away all the incentives for new recruits to join. The good news, Trump did an about face to now include tax exemption for military bonuses for all troops to be included in the Trump Agenda Bill to try to gain more bipartisan support. In the past, only those who served in "combat zones" or engaged in "special missions" had tax exemptions...a very important concern for military families. https://www.military.com/daily-news...e-tax-exempt-under-bill-house-republican.html wrbtrader
Know who else is pissy these days? All those Shark Tank investors who laughed at the Americans who wanted to keep manufacturing in America and provide American jobs. Damon John, Mark Cuban, the lot of them. Wouldn't invest unless they could outsource manufacturing and make the product cheaper.
