You argument is garbage on several levels. Trump already said he paused tariffs because we were getting "yippy", (it was actually the "bond vigilantes"), not because of any 4D chess-playing. He will be backing down on the tariffs on China next, and probably blaming us, like for example the farmers, for it.

How come everybody else gets to call Buy1 an utter moron and fabulist but he pretends to ignore me?

Why does the cat do what the cat does I guess. Very little mind, lot of impulse to use it.

Gretchen Whitmer Stuns Democrats With Pro-Trump Shift
    https://trendingpoliticsnews.com/new-gretchen-whitmer-stuns-democrats-with-pro-trump-shift-mace/

Democratic Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer voiced support for elements of President Trump’s hardline tariff policy during a Wednesday speech in Washington, signaling a break from the Democratic Party’s vocal opposition to Trump’s trade agenda.

“I understand the motivation behind the tariffs,” Whitmer, viewed as a potential contender for the Democratic nomination in 2028, said. “And I can tell you, here’s where President Trump and I do agree—we do need to make more stuff in America. More cars and chips. More steel and ships. We do need fair trade.”

As outlined in the Economics forum earlier today...

China isn't just better at manufacturing than US, they've out-traded us over past 25 years. Furthermore China does not need the U.S. as a trade partner to be successful, but the U.S. is screwed without China as a trade partner. So Trump can raise tariffs as high as he pleases on China... they will be glad to effectively mirror the tariffs and cut off trade with the U.S. It will hurt China in the short term, but there are plenty of other markets for Chinese goods in the long term.

Yes, a shame really as we both love cats.

Having ADHD myself I think I understand Trump's brain in part. There is a strong argument that the only bad decision, is not making one. The fact is that you can take almost any path and navigate your way to some version of success. Just.. It's really not elegant and at scale leaves a lot of casualties.

Sure, he has a buffet of advisors, probably even has Stephen Mnuchin calling him on this, but, he is only able to see things as zero-sum and that is a big problem in his path selection.

When uneducated white men are barely believing your tariff bullshiat, you're losing the trade war.

Trump’s Own Aides Keep Him in State of Delusion About Tariff Fiasco
His inner circle is telling him that working-class voters are with him. In the real world, all the tariff chaos gives Democrats an opening to try to crack his vaunted coalition.
