His references to Canada are at this point farcical in nature at some point reality has to matter. We all hate crazy Grandpa for good reason up here.

The US govt can't really afford these tariffs. It'll be clear eventually and there will be some tense meetings with Trump dealing with fiscal realities. Kind of like the late days of Trumps casino businesses I'm sure it'll be who is going to tell him we are out of money :).

Yeah, it wasn’t just that Trump’s casinos failed, he bled them dry on the way down. Investors were warning for years, but he used every legal trick to block them from pulling the plug while siphoning off millions in “management fees.” It wasn’t bad business, it was a slow-motion mugging in a tux. And the greenmail tactics on other properties? Just accelerated Atlantic City’s collapse.

Honestly, the only mystery is how none of those “smart” investors took out a hit, guess he knew how to pick marks who’d swallow the losses and call it capitalism.

If you know Steve Minuchen, the only competent guy in Trump's last admin, you can read a lot from him here. He is uncomfortable and absolutely not going to discuss the formula use to calculate the tariffs.

This was four days ago. Of course he sane-washes but that's expected at this stage.

Well to be fair it will be pain all around. Will America be the biggest loser, no. We are the juggernaut because we are the juggernaut. There’s no escaping it. There will be pain, be sure of that, but not like smaller countries in Asia. Vietnam and Taiwan poked their head up real quick because American tariffs will destroy their economy.

In another post I posted this is a no-win situation for the United States while other countries (not small like Vietnam) will hit the U.S. where it hurts the most and those manufacturing workers is not the strength of America's workers (8 - 10%).

Manufacturing employment has been on the decline in America since 1970.

This is what other larger countries know and will instead be focusing their retaliation tariffs on other industry groups in the United States. Further, those other countries are investing in their citizens and defenses because they're now viewing the United States as an economic threat and possible military threats with Trump's bully tactics & rhetoric when he say the United States could use military force if necessary...tyrant/dictator rhetoric.

Thus, countries like those in Europe are now putting 800 billion dollars into their military defenses to stand alone away from the United States regardless of the outcome of the tariffs because these countries see a bigger threat beyond tariffs...this is something Trump doesn't understand and most likely will continue with the side comments that's helping to destabilize the world.

Wars have started when a powerful country wanted to expand it's territory, take about buying/attacking another sovereign country for it's resources, blockades, and tariffs.

The day Trump begins to see America can not take the pain (go down with his sinking ship) from his tariffs...I can see Trump becoming desperate and then changes his rhetoric to "blockades" as another threat.

That's when you should start preparing your children for War.

A reason why the building of private nuclear bunkers and fallout shelters are on a dramatic rise, driven by concerns about geopolitical instability and other potential disasters since Trump's first term...Americans are becoming more afraid.

A neighbor (ex-military and fellow Republican) to my property in the North Suburbs of Chicago was discussing on the telephone about him wanting to build a nuclear shelter in his back yard.

My reply...you're nuts. Just buy property at higher altitude in a rural community in Canada. :D

I now regret not installing one more security camera pointing towards the back of his property. :wtf:

USA is in such unique position to run trade deficit with impunity

USA problem is zero fiscal discipline. It won't be solved with tariffs
