Exactly. And this is EXACTLY why Fortune 100 companies should do their damdest to stay out of this stuff at any and all costs. Let me ask ANYONE here this: If you knew in advance McDonalds was coming out hard with a marketing campaign to promote a new "rainbow milkshake" to celebrate the diversity in the transsexual lifestyle... would you go long the stock? Lets put opinions about these types of things things aside for one second... cause personally I could care less... but if I was running a fund that owned a substantial position, of which there are in fact many... I would sure as hell dump it. My job is to be a knowledgeable custodian of the $'s that folks trust me to invest and provide a return with. Knowing that at least 20% of Americans (you can label them however you like) would never grace the Golden Arches again, or at least for a long time... I have a responsibility to them to gtfo of the stock --- like pronto. Case closed. Again, put the opinions aside here, revenue is revenue is revenue. I'd dump the stock even if I was working in that position and I was a tranny... because I'm not blind and I'm not getting paid to take a stand against whatever. And if the board made that decision... you can bet your ass after the stock drops huge... those law firms that specialize in suing companies that fill up our mailboxes with forms (I never) fill out... it'll be open season for them. Bottom line: stay out of the frey. BOD master-class lesson 101... common sense.
Speaking of McDonald's and others...they are some of the biggest supporters of the LGBTQ community and they consistently sell their products to children. How many threads are there here @ Elitetrader.com about that and how many threads have been created by @ipatent about the Equalpride’s Out100 organization that McDonald's is a proud supporter of ??? Zero Heck, Target is not even a member of the Equalpride’s Out100. In fact, I would list McDonald's as one of the "untouchables". By the way, I didn't even notice nor care about any of their corporate support but I do remember once wondering a little about those rainbow boxes that contained French Fries several years back when I was in the hospital and saw nurses eating McDonald's at the nurse station...only thing I thought about was that I wished I had some of those "unsalted French fries" without thinking much about the colorful boxes the fries came in. Today, doing a quick research after your commentary about McDonald's as your example... I found this stink posted by someone on Twitter back in 2017... I don't think he realizes people either do not care or just don't notice. Also, considering @ipatent thread is about Target stock price... Take a look at McDonald's stock price after each month of June (pride month) with your charting program since 2017 or early 2003. A company supporting the LGBTQ community and selling food to children. That is why I refer to McDonald's are one of the untouchables while people like Joshua Feuerstein and @ipatent are on social media helping to give those companies enough publicity for people like me that do not care or just didn't notice the support. Just as important...monitor the stock price of McDonald's in June...I'll get back to this thread to see if they profit or lose as much money as Target did as a low-hanging fruit to bully...possibly a stock manipulation candidate considering the very little stink about the untouchable companies doing much more selling to children in comparison to Target. Oh wait, @ipatent resides in Florida...here's Key West support and how many families with children are tourists of that popular vacation spot ??? Out Traveler partnered with The Florida Keys & Key West to raise brand awareness and increase bookings to the destination by creating an integrated branded video campaign that leverages authentic Out Travelers. In branded video and content series Key West: Inside OUT, viewers were taken on a trip of a lifetime as four influencers journey to Key West to discover LGBTQ+ inclusivity on the island. https://equalpride.com/key-west Seriously, if they are so disgusted...why bring so much awareness to these companies while ignoring what's occurring in their own backyard or in nearby cities ??? Last of all, what if Baron (ET owner) decided to let one of the many trading companies that support the LGBQT community be a sponsor of Elitetrader.com or already a sponsor ??? Should we expect people like ipatent, Innervoice (he already has a new username after being banned) and FortuneTeller to walk the talk and quit the forum in protest...maybe they will start a thread down in the feedback section asking Baron to delete their accounts ??? Is there an age requirement to join this forum...I don't remember. We should now be able to see how this can get out of control about something most of us do not care nor notice until we see threads like this. P.S. Many of the untouchable supporters of the LGBTQ community...they also donate millions of dollars to Republicans...money the Republican's gladly take to leave those companies alone as the anti-gay campaigns are aimed at other companies that are low-hanging fruit. Talk about hypocrisy. wrbtrader
LOL... the backlash has now spread to pet stores. No colorful sweater for your dog! PetSmart becomes latest company to face backlash over Pride merchandise https://nypost.com/2023/05/29/petsmart-faces-backlash-over-pride-merchandise/
Another company that's low-hanging fruit. Let us see them go after the Humane Society that's a huge supporter of the LGBTQ community and sells Humane Society merchandise with "rainbow logos"...some places are freely giving away the merchandise to children. It's been interesting to discover all of these companies, and organizations selling their LGBTQ support to children that I didn't even know had been occurring considering there's very little social media stink about these companies except of those that are low-hanging fruit. wrbtrader
And innocent children putting gay fries in their mouths.. Some of them with the worst cases of hemmoroids wearing their rainbow swimware. Which reminds me, LacesOut seems to have finally decided to stop gaslighting his family and is on the path to recovery from his terrible narcissism. Kidding, narcissists can't really get better. Or they murdered him.. No judge will convict. Dan Marino should die of gonorrhea.
Well again, supporting a cause is one thing, but responsible management teams of publicly traded companies need to be cognizant of the possible ramifications that getting too 'in your face' with this stuff could have on the stock price. Shareholder returns trump all. I mean it is what it is. Private companies or non-profits... have at it. Break out the pride. But my point was, I don't want to own a the stock of a company where the actions of management could result in a sharp decline of near term revenue just to make a point. Buy back in when the dust settles.
And yeah, see now it has gone too far and there are idiots out there that are just looking for something. It's ridiculous. Sign of the times.
