After our state lost millions in tax revenue associated with the film industry, the Republican state legislature reversed direction and implemented a Film Tax Credit with a cap of $30 million for 2016. Many productions returned to our state, and the tax revenue (and economic revenue) associated with these productions have boosted the state. Also the Republican leaders were forced to admit that eliminating the Film Tax Credit failed entirely as an economic & tax policy. Hating Hollywood does not drive good policy decisions.
