taper announced, stocks soar. why did everyone think a taper would be bad? taper means improving economy.

Because the stock market is levitating on a cloud of free money. Take away the free money, and where does the money to feed the bull market come from?

Everybody knows when the Fed turns on the printing presses, it doesn't go to Main Street. It goes straight to Wall Street.

 

So what happened if they didnt taper... market would tank?!?! come on this market was gonna go up no matter what

well the spike in stocks has nothing to do with the taper and everything to do with them announcing to keep short term interest rates low longer than expected. if that's what you are talking about
