No need, I'm enjoying this full-fledged journal (ahem), nice to see Tampa making hay with his latest Grail, raking in the bucks (altho claiming otherwise, but that's undoubtedly for his wifey's benefit in case she checks out ye olde Short Skirts), and remaining... er... ah... downright humble about it. There's a lesson in here somewhere, I'm sure of it...
fibs, and the fibbing fibers who tell them⦠After bidding The Elite Traderâs Journal Forum farewell for the fith time, tampa has returned! More predictable than the seasons, tampaâs hiatus did not last long. When asked by the daily skirt why he came back, the veteran journal keeper replied: âThis place needs me. Almost all of the old posters, the really good ones, are gone.â Few could argue with that sentiment. One by one the old crowd has been banned, drifted away, or simply mellowed. âSomeone needs to show the new crowd how to stir up trouble, how to put some color in their postsâ tampa was quoted as saying. Reports have circulated that members have been rereading posts from 40yotrader, and other past masters. More desperate members have even sunk to rereading Mister Subliminalâs journal. When asked by this reporter how long he would stay this time, tampa said: âAt least until Magna The Wise starts to threaten me with closing down the journal. Then Iâll lay low, till he cools off, and then youâll just have to see.â A hasty meeting of the Moderators Commission has been called to determine how to deal with the situation.
Tamp your Journal is the highlight of my day (I know ... I have no life but trading also) keep posting please .... But if you ever decide to go into stand up comedy, can I be your agent? Sorry to hear about your YM loss this A.M. but I hope you don't give up on the cci just yet.
OK, letâs cut the crap, and get serious â if only for a moment. From my point of view, one of the joys of writing this crap is the fact that any number of people believe it. As I have stated before, some of this stuff is absolutely true. Some of it has roots in the truth, and some of it is pure fabrication. And that is all I will ever admit to. You are free to believe whatever pleases you. But that is not why I called this meeting. I called it to talk about my latest adventure â the CCI, as taught by Woodie. Iâve known of him for a while now, and even visited his room some months ago looking for material. But it was a thread that ran here maybe two months ago that really caught my attention. In the finest ET tradition, it quickly turned ugly, with passionate supporters, and vile spewing detractors. But it peeked my curiosity. Enough so that I went back â only this time not looking for material. So, what did I find? One very interesting approach to trading the market. Itâs not as easy at it first appears. In fact, itâs very hard to really learn. There is MUCH more to it then first meets the eye. The actual signals are easy to learn, but there is something referred to as ânuanceâ that is the key. Nuance is difficult to explain. In itâs simplest form, it boils down to knowing when to take a trade, and when to look the other way. While there is a ton of material available at www.woodiescciclub.com on the basic method, there is almost nothing on this nuance stuff. And that is probably the reason many (most?) people who come into the room walk away disappointed â and convinced that itâs all a bunch of crap. So what gives? Why wonât Woodie and the gang part with the secret? Well, there ainât no secret. When you are ready, they will freely talk to you for hours about the finer points â but you gotta be ready. That means that you have to have done your homework sufficiently enough to be able to ask intelligent questions. Or swift enough to realize when the beans are being spilled in the room. On top of that, I suspect that if you studied this stuff for 25 years you would still be picking up on new things â new nuances. Another problem for new members is that many are looking for a cut and dry system One with specific entries, exits, and stops. But thatâs not what this is about. It is subjective, VERY subjective on all counts. In addition, it can be traded short or long term. As an example, there are players who are only looking for perhaps as few as 5 YM points. I, on the other hand kinda like 20, 30, 50 or more. So the scalpers will take signals I turn my nose up at. This is one area where that word ânuanceâ comes in to play. But why am I telling you all of this? Well, there is little if any Woodieâs CCI talk on this board â the gang donât be thinkinâ a whole lot of this place, so while they lurk, they donât post. Secondly, I am taking a long hard look at it. I am impressed with what I see â but still lack the confidence to go balls to the wall with it. So â if there is real interest, Iâll bring you along on the journey. I am not in a position to explain or defend the method â donât try to engage me in a debate. All I am prepared to do is to post an occasional chart, saying this is what I saw, this is what I did or didnât do. And when the mood strikes me, Iâll post the more usual nonsense we have all come to know and love (except for one past journal writer who is pissed that I have so many more âviewsâ than he does). OK, thatâs the story. Weâll see where we go from here.
I missed the previous Woodie discussion, but have the impression that it was not pretty. I have known or talked with Woodie, via the web, since he started this round of rooms, (he did it many years in the past). Been 2 yrs and 2 months now - and I have been impressed with his willingness to give information to those who really want to seek it. When I first heard him talking cci, Qcharts did not have it, so I developed a stochastic that fit pretty closely and that is what I still use. I have never really relied upon the cci, but find it quite interesting and very worthy of a long hard serious look. I wish you all the best with it, tampa. Make 'em pretty, Chris
"Another problem for new members is that many are looking for a cut and dry system One with specific entries, exits, and stops. But thatâs not what this is about. It is subjective, VERY subjective..." Specific is the key word here. Interesting that the threads with the most replies have the most crap in them. Samson: not surprised you're a cheerleader for yet another "system". I'm tempted to give you some more advice but I've learned my lesson. You could at least make some different mistakes to keep it interesting- you're becoming too predictable.
...oh Richard, you pain me beyond words. I had been under the impression that this thread enjoyed so many "hits", because so many people found it entertaining. I, as others, have noted that you have become a regular visitor to this thread. I can only think of two reasons why that might be: a) You secretly enjoy the content. b) You are one of the legion of ET members who feel compelled to save the others from reading "crap". In any event, you are welcome here. But what you are not welcome to do is address/insult/attack other people who post here. Feel free to comment one way or the other on anything I post, but save your self-righteous opinions of others. Commenting on others in this thread insults the originator of the thread.
besides, I've always been interested in short skirts. I for one would like to see a comic forum here also. You would certainly become a star there. But does it pay well?
...where the hell do you think I came up with the bucks to fund a twenty-three year "drawdown"? But I don't want to talk about it...
