  1. You are not looking for guaranteed trades , you are looking for the patience that allows you to sit and wait for the impulse move.

Rather than being impulsive which leads to frustration.....

11:15 If I’m not sitting here trying to figure out how to slip one by poor ol’ Magna, I more often then not start foolin’ round with my method. Having sustained a four point hit yesterday, slipping one by the moderators has a low priority today.

So I’m sitting here like a fool, saying to myself: ”Sure the Keltner stuff, and the elusive impulse move works, but you ain’t seen one now for two whole days. Why not look at some other crap?”.

You see, I am deeply envious of people who can trade in the kind of slop we have seen today and yesterday. Deeply envious. Because I can’t.

Well anyway, I caught myself messin’ ‘round with other stuff, and put a stop to it. I’m not really up for tweaking with the poor moderators (they need a rest), so all that is left to me is to wait – and if need be, wait some more. So that’s what I’m doing. (the sound of fingers drumming the desk)

11:47 And then it dawns on me that I am really wasting my time, since I had forgotten it’s FED day. Why can’t the assholes put that crap out on Saturday, so it wouldn’t mess with the market?

12:36 Sld @910 ½ No question about it- a real honest to goodness impulse move, as determined by the three-minute chart. But it went nowhere, putting in a double bottom in the process. -1/2 point.

2:15 ...hmmm, look at that spike! It’s either the FED announcement, or the Winona Ryder verdict. (OK, you think I’m kidding, but both came down at the same time – so there.) If it is the FED, how much longer till they pay me to borrow money? It can’t go lower. But then, you just never know with crazy Al.

Since trading is out of the question until things settle down, I might as well have some fun with Magna the Wise by throwing in a few key words designed to give him heart burn. Here goes: The Daily Skirt!, and just for fun 40yotrader and aphexcoil!. I am so bad – don’t you just love it?

02:39 Well thanks to Al and his friends, not to mention the folks who trade this stuff, my charts are trashed. It’s probably best to call it a day.

    2 Round Turns / -1/2 Point.
    0 wins – 1 loss – 1 B/E

  3. Hi, I'm new to ET and this is my first post. I've read a lot of this thread and it is very entertaining and informative.

In my opinion, if you can't, then don't. Don't feel evious. I know I can't trade days like yesterday and most of today. That's why I restrained myself and did not execute any trades all of yesterday and all of today until after the Fed cut interest rates 50 bp. Sometimes the best action is no action at all.

I am sure glad the market moved after that verdict otherwise I would not have been able to dig out of most of the big hole I dug for myself this morning. My stock went up while the market was tanking and the sad thing was, I put on 1.5 times my normal short. I got whacked and churned the rest of the morning. Then the verdict... and I made money back and forth for an hour and half. I really knew that at first the market would support the jury. Then the reality of WR's new felony record set in. Then the market said so what Harvey Pitt is gone. I read the post verdict sentiment like a rap sheet. thanks for the heads up tampa on the verdict's importance. I would like to subscribe for you gold membership package and be on the inside.

jem, the whole crew here at tradingwithtampa.com are thrilled to hear that our insight and analysis put some beans in your pot!

I don’t want to mention any other initials (that cranky old Magna would delete them anyway), but no other journal can give you the kind of heads up information found here.

Thanx for reading the journal, and continued success.

(I was beginning to think that no one had caught on to the Winona Ryder bit – whew!)

I had some 'action" once - think it was in 1957 or maybe '58, I can't remember for sure.

  8. I lost a bundle this morning trying out Aphie's new front end (Jasper) - but what really cheesed me off was that I could have made it all back, and then some, had I been privileged to hear your live calls in the chatroom. I've learnt my lesson and was wondering if you could somehow overlook my little indiscretion and reinstate my membership.

Look Subliminal, I’ve talked with the other snake oil – I mean, venders here on ET, and it seems that you are in every chat room currently on line. With all the browsers you have open, I can’t imagine how you have any room left to trade!

On top of that, it seems that you are always on the Free Trial plan – and always making excuses for why it should be extended. When you told me that you were a Government Agent called out of the country on a secret mission, I believed you. But then I come to find that you told __deleated by Magna__ that you were an astronaut and had been on a Space Shuttle mission, well that just takes the cake.

I am sorry to hear that you were bamboozled into using that nincompoop’s front end – but the best that I can suggest is that you kick him in his rear end – if you get my drift!

  10. Do my eyes deceive me? What gives (deleted by Magna) the right to abuse client/chatroom operator privilege and disclose to you my astronaut story? While this is sufficient grounds for a lawsuit, I once again put the interests of the trading community before my own and extend an olive branch to you and (deleted by Magna) in exchange for readmission to your Free Trial plan. I promise to refrain from publicly criticizing your methodology (or lack thereof) and will not fade any more of your calls in my chatroom.

    Do we have a deal?
