09:25 Trade Prep: Winston 100âs â 2 ½ packs â check. Large glass of diet orange sodaâ check. Hostess-Twinkies - 6â check. Alka-Seltzer â 6 tabletsâ check. Extra Strength Tylenol â 1 bottleâ check. Rolaids â 2 six-packsâ check. Wise Potato Chips â 1 32oz bagâ check. Peruse several supermarket tabloids to get all the latest newsâ check. (hmmm...wonder if that reported sighting of Jesus in Salt Lake City will impact the market?) All is in readiness â letâs boogie! 09:31 Damn, the market opened down a few points â I should think the Jesus sighting would have been a positive Whatâs it gonna take to drive this market higher if a Savior Sighting wonât? I guess Wall Street is waiting to see how the Winona Ryder case comes down. (hmmm...how would Hitman handle this?) 10:28 The market remains locked in a tug-of-war, with half of the Street expecting Winona to fry, and the other half thinking that sheâll walk. I donât see much happening until the Street resolves this issue. 10:55 With no clear direction in prices, I decided to call it a morning. No Trades .
OK, you caught me. Only the smokes and the soda is "for real" - the rest is kind of just made up. (And it's only 2 packs, not 2 1/2)
I know, I know - you guys want action â trades, lots of trades. Well, there ainât gonna be any âactionâ unless there really is some action â or to put it another way: an impulse move. My trading life has changed for the better since I finally got the concept drilled into my thick head. Yep, itâs a major big time drag sitting around waiting for one to show up, but when one does... Sure, itâs boring just hanginâ out, waiting, and then waiting some more. But I pass the time trying to figure out ways to get around the moderators to cause trouble -âso it's not a total waste. 12:19 Sld 908 ½ Itâ looked like the beginning of the elusive impulse move â it wasnât. -1 point 01:14 God, itâs slow! Itâs got to be the uncertainty over the Winona Ryder trial â what else could it be? 01:39 Sld 906 ¾ Here we go again! +1 Point Ah Haa â take that Mister Market. Thatâll teach you to mess with me! 02:02 So much for that impulse move â gosh darn-it... Hey, isnât ATHM or something supposed to come out with 4th Quarter Guidance today? That must be what has the Market on edge â thatâs got to be it. 02:18 Bot 910 ¾ Here we go again â but not for long. -2 Points We are not amused. (I think the markets are rigged â how else could I be wrong twice in one session?) 03:04 Bot 913 One more time? It was one more time all right. -2 Points If Clinton was still in the White House, these bastards wouldnât be able to get away with robbing me like this! 03:17 Fed up, Iâm calling it a day and going out to vote â and Iâm voting Democrat to put an end to this kind of crap. 4 Round Turns 1 Win â 3 Losses - 4 Points on the day.
Hindsight is of course 20-20. In looking back at todayâs action, it is clear that my attitude was too cavalier, and I attempted to jump in early â you know, trying to not miss the big move. Well the big move never came, and I was properly ârewardedâ for my greed. I know better, and will do my damnedest to not repeat the error.
10:39 Bot @918.....+/-0 It could have been the start of something big â but it wasnât. Iâve been sucked into this situation five times over the last two sessions â not a good sign. I am too anxious, too impatient to wait for a clear indication. I find myself âanticipatingâ, and doing so without any success. That mean old Mister Market knows that I want to recoup yesterdayâs losses, and he ainât making it easy. If I have really learned my lesson, I will wait him out. If I am just kidding myself, and havenât learned squat, heâll suck me in again â and again.
you paid 918 , you sold at 18 .........you never scratched a trade before ? you looking for guaranteed trades? you angry at a scratched trade ? .................c'mon tampa get real
Well yes, Jolly, I am looking for "guaranteed" trades - so to speak. Not one of the last five trades really fit the impulse move description - and that's supposed to be what I am trading. I'm not angry - I am disappointed with moi.
