Man, I am in trouble deep - I've been given the boot from Woodie's CCI Club. First I must explain something. You know me as "tampa", but in Woodie's place I am/was "the big cheese". I used to be "tamps", but had to change my name because I offended some people over there with something I said over here - it's all very complicated. Anyway, last night they got to talking about my site ( www.cciblog.com ). and everything was cool until one of the moderators saw something I posted that mentioned her. Well she threw a hissy-fit, and the next thing I know they are demanding that I agree not to mention anyone in the room by name on MY site/blog! (I ain't making any of this up -the whole story is on my blog, including talk of hacking it!!!_ So now I've got to make up another name so I can lurk to gather material to post that will piss them off and amuse you. (man, but what I do for you people). It's all very complicated. Oh, and I had a bad day trading yesterday.
May I step out of character for a few moments, and talk seriously about Woodieâs CCI Club? Woodie draws a lot of attention for two main reasons. 1) His method is unique 2) The room is free â except for the HotCom charge (about $23 a month) I think itâs fair to say that most people who enter, go away unable to master the method. Itâs not for a lack of help, but more of a misunderstanding of what is involved. Itâs a method, an acquired way of trading, rather than a system with exact rules. It is anything but a quick fix for a hemorrhaging account. It requires a lot of hard work and commitment. It may, or may not be what you are looking for. The big plus is that itâs free â there is nothing for sale. - The drawbacks- and there are several â are also basically misunderstandings. Woodie, and all of the moderators use e-Signal. The room provides a remarkable application/add-on trading panel that draws the Woodieâs CCI charts, and automates many of his signals â and it is free of charge. There are also applications for TradeStation and Sierra Charts that do almost the same thing. There are some members who feel pressured into thinking that they must subscribe to e-Signal to successfully trade the method, but nothing could be further from the truth. Another drawback is the room it self. While veteran members freely offer help and advice, the overall atmosphere is that of a clique â and woe to the newbie who steps out of line. And there is still one more problem â Woodie. He is a one-of-a-kind. He genuinely wants to help and teach people how to become successful â about that I have no doubt. He gives of himself tirelessly. He is a kind and gentle man â grandfatherly in looks and sound. But like all of us, he has his quirks and idiosyncrasies. He can be petty, and spiteful. And for all that he gives, he can also take. As an example, the applications for TradeStation and Sierra Charts were developed by members who have since fallen in to disfavor and left the room. Yet their hard work is retained, and given away by the Club. There are those who have described Woodieâs CCI Club as a cult. I would disagree, but concede certain cult-like comparisons. They are to be found mainly in the way that the inner circle behaves and is treated by some members. Most of the inner circle are fine and decent folks â a few are aloof and arrogant. And again, woe to the poor soul who crosses them. Is the room, or the method for you? Can you cut the mustard and make some money? Maybe, maybe not. There is a lot more to Woodieâs CCI Club then first meets the eye. Would I recommend it? Well, yes â but keep in mind that I am âtampaâ, and if you have read my journals, you might want to reconsider my endorsement.
Although I built a more cynical view of the e-signal cabal than you have I will say that the SierraChart software is a gift to the room. Nice thing is I don't have to support it anymore. I got heaps of value from the room including the joy of pxxxing Woodie off almost as much as I pxxx old db off here.
Just finished reading blog and some comments .Particularly one by Angela. This person became "moderator-who -enforced -the rules" probably after a month or two at most after joining woodie's room without any idea about trading. Can you imagine how much "rear part of the body" kissing must be done to achieve this, especially in that tight circle of "insiders". It's mostly because of this kind of moderators the room is what it is now(i remember it different from Paltalk "era") and woodie supports it in all aspects. Just keep it on Tampa.
Tell me another one! Angela's a good friend of mine, and I recall well when she took on that mantle. She was striving to learn from the people in Woodie's room, moderators and other members too, and felt that if there were a way for her to contribute to the positive energy there, she should do so. Plus, the open bashing some of the moderators were experiencing did indeed require policing. I'm not sure what inspires people to do that; if they don't like the material or method of presentation, they can always just leave. But alas, some need to be shown the door. Since a few of the longer term text moderators had conflicting obligations for a time, Angela agreed to take on some of their responsibilities. She was asked to do so. Besides, I can assure you that axxkissing is not in her nature. One of her favorite phrases, often stated with a certain glee, is "I disagree!". And no one is exempt from that declaration. MarkB
Talk about being between a rock and a hard space â I just donât know how to deal with this one. I better proceed very carefully⦠Some guy, who I canât mention, but whoâs name sounds like the stuff lumber is made from, plus an âeâ sound, has personally requested that I REMOVE ANY MENTION or REFERENCE to ANYONE in the room named after the guy I canât mention. (You think Iâm making this up?) Now this is such a broad sweeping request that I am already in violation of it by carelessly referring to myself â a member of the room! Whatâs more, any number of comments have been left either signed by room members, or mentioning by name or referring to room members â and I canât remove them!!! Am I going to go to jail over this? Woodster, I am sure that one of your gang will be sure that you see this, so Iâll address you directly. I like you, fella â youâre basically a good guy. But get a grip. This is bullshit â plain and simple. I am free, white, and 21, as the saying goes. I will express my opinions as I see fit. I will comment on, satirize, or even mock anything or anyone I so please. You run a frickinâ chat room â not the world. I donât care if one or more of your minions is offended. It was foolish to listen to the weeping, and more foolish to promise to do anything about it. I write this âblogâ with a smile on my face â but I ainât smiling now. Because your club members get hysterical and act like jerks is no reason for you to do the same. Your request is ludicrous, unreasonable, as is the person you are attempting to shield. In essence what you have done is to encourage me to really stick a fork in her and anyone else I suspect of overreacting knowing damn well that they canât resist âfinding out about itâ Woodie, you are older than I am, and I have respect for you and what you have done â but itâs time you grew upâ¦
