It seems like the logical explanation, however, much could be learned if he would also post the not so good days. Personally I think that scalping for 1-2 es points is extremely hard with the market being able to move 4 points within seconds. Regardless of his succes, many can be learn from his journal. I do hope he will continue to post.
I"m new to this site and I really learned a lot from his journal. Yesterday, I had the day off and I read through this entire thread. I think that its exciting and interesting to follow Allen through the process. If he had incurred losses over the most recent days, its only a part of the overall process and hopefully he will shake it off if that's the case.
This journal is somewhat realistic because I have done this myself a few times. One time I started out with 7k and turned it into 28k within 3-4 months. I just daytraded INTC everyday and learned its every move. One time I placed 3k in a penny stock somewhere under a buck and woke up one day to see it 5 times its value. Sure this can be done
my guess is OP is bust or at least in a middle of mid-thread DD crisis. the guy is dramatically over leveraged playing in a craps table in which the house has a huge "edge". all this while bragging about being a former fortune 500 CFO and being used to do this all the time... she could get lucky several times in a row but as she increases the number of bets, statistics will kick in and crash her unrealistic dreams. imagine if one would start a journal last thursday saying it will take 5k to 250k in one day. then it goes and puts everything on goog apr 500calls. on friday the backroll would turn into 250k thanks to goog earnings windfall. now, what does that prove? nothing. anyone can take 5K to whatever $ target but it will be based solely on luck and complete lack of risk management. he who claims that can trade the eminis for an absolute return on a daily basis is lying. the pros can barely scratch it. sorry to burst your bubble.
I haven't read this entire journal. At least Allen should step up and continue posting since he seems to have caught the attention of many ETers. If you are big enough to start some online journal you should have the balls to follow through.
My guess is he is waiting for funds replacement to show up on his statement. He will deposit the exact amount needed to become even with his last posted statement. He then will say he was on vacation and didn't trade or had some type of family emergency.
This wouldn't surprise me at all. The other possibility is that he doesn't show at all. What I find interesting is that in the month of April (so far) we have had 3 distinct swing moves....50 points up, 65 points down, and 70 points up. Catching any one of those moves with even 1 contract would have been quite lucrative eh? OldTrader
Hi OldTrader, I noticed with the few examples of Allen, that he plays countertrend movies on the market. I asked him of some input about this, but he disapeared ... So with the three distinct moves he might ruined his account. It depends on how he managed the stop losses, etc.
