If a seasoned trader is euphoric because he doubled his money and finds it impossible to manage the euphoria, then in my mind he is not a seasoned trader and has issues he still needs to work out. A win or a loss should not have any emotional effect on a great trader. They just accept it as one of the possibilities of any trade they place. If a trader gets too euphoric about doubling his money I can almost guarantee you that he won't be happy for too long, because with that attitude he will probably end up with some big losses in his near future. Yes, he can and will be happy about it. But euphoria has no place in trading as a business. But thats just my opinion and I could be wrong. ps:Allenhobbs, excellent thread. I am happy for your success and wish you well. Good luck!
Today we had a nominal loss before commissions. However, we are still on target to reach our stated goal. I accept total responsibilty for the performance. Today's results wil be posted, as usual, tomorrow morning after I receive broker statements. Thank you.
Dear ET mods, I commend you for the outstanding and difficult job you face monitering these Journals and threads on behalf of the trading community. Your work is priceless.
Very possible and I intend on doing it. I was a CFO of a billion dollar business and the thought of becoming a professional money manager has no appeal. I don't need the headaches or money. Thanks for reading the Journal.
I hope you succeed with this challenge. You've taken the appropriate steps to assure the credibility of the experiment. It would not only be a remarkable thing to see it accomplished, but it would also serve as inspiration after having seen the possibilities. Good luck.
Thanks for the encouragement and vote of confidence. It's folks like you that make this worthwhile and I don't doubt your sincerity.
