Nice going neke. Glad to see you are up over 100k in less than a month. Enjoy the time with your family. Question concerning your recent trading style, I notice you are relying on options more and more. When you started this year's journal, your emphasis was not nearly so much in option trading. Is this newer strategy because it gives a low risk (cost of the premium) high reward ratio? Just curious.
The cost for options (bid/ask spread) and commissions have always featured in my consideration whether to play or not. With each gain though more confidence is generated in ability to beat the above costs and turn a good profit on the options. I still need to be alert and selective in when I play options. The benefit for options is as you have mentioned staking a smaller part of your buying power to the trade while having the same or greater reward/risk. Besides, the maximum loss is known beforehand. And sometimes the options are really "cheap" vis-a-vis the potential rewards. The GOOG trade I saw late on Thur. I looked at the low for the GOPHL that day, and it says 0.30: I 'm just wondering if someone actually got it for that low and closed at the end of the day, that would have been more than 1000% on committed amount. Granted all the premium could have been lost (-100%), but I think the premium-setters did not reflect the power of the upgrade from Goldman Sachs.
How did you go about getting this order filled, if I may ask.. And how long did the filling process take. Was it all in all out. Or did you enter in segments like you do with a lot of your trades? Thanks..
I have seeing your posts for years since your balance below 100K, nice work, glad to see you are back on track again. Wish all the best!
For a stock like GOOG that was a snap. It was bid 2.70, ask 2.80, I put in a bid for 200 @ 2.80 and it was promptly filled.
