No I do not sell my system (a lot of discretionary element is there by the way). The top traders do not. That would blunt the edge.
Weekly Update for week 38 ended 10/04/2008 Another solid week, up 38K (21%). Delighted to have another great week. The market has definitely been throwing up some great opportunities. The best trade was MOS: shorted 2000 shares at 55 in after hours after their disappointing earnings. Covered the following morning at 48.7, netting 12K. That happened to be way too early. The stock closed the day less than 40. Nearly 18K left on the plate. What a pain! It is amazing to see how these former momentum darlings implode without bottom when it goes bad. On another note, really happy to hit a new cummulative equity peak. The last peak was set in Nov 2007 (week 38 of the second graph, and of last year's thread). Since then I went on a massive drawdown. I hope time between peaks never get as long as that ever again. congrads neke I have had a better yr than you ... however this week I lost approx what you made after making almost the same amount a few weeks ago ps ... if you can learn from your losses and be humble you will find the way to your true path in the end
Inspirational Neke while posting evidence of returns and all, could not ask for more from your journal. Seen you struggle and seen you succeed and in the end you worked it all out. Congratulations. Daniel
great job, neke. i've been doing well these past few weeks. i have to keep reminding myself that i'm no genius and that it's just been an easy market to trade in. all i've done the past 2 weeks is buy puts and many times sell in the same day. same as you, i don't necessarily maximize the profits. bought oct08 aapl 95 puts today before the bailout vote and sold after the vote for $800 profits but left $1600 in profits if i held until 5 min of market close. got in on amzn puts and made another $200 which helped ease some of the pain nowhere near what you're making, but as what others have said, you provide an inspiration on what's possible a few months ago, i was on a losing streak that coincided with yours... Best of luck to you, and continued success!
